Technically not a PC game its just an app and its starting to become addictive. You can go the free route (my choice) which takes longer or you can start dropping a little coin for some of cars a little faster.

I started playing this on Sunday. Very addicting, already put in about 7 hours. I'm surprised by how good it feels. I'm also going the free route, they will not get me to spend real money. I have three cars right now, the Silvia S15, Challenger R/T, and the Shelby GT500. I wish the real life maintenance time was shorter but should be much better to tolerate now that I have three cars.

At the beginning I recommend doing full service on each car you own when you stop playing. It may cost a little more money but better than seeing you have 45 mins of maintenance and have nothing you can do. And don't ever use gold to get the mainteance done immediately.

Edit: why did this get moved to GT5 forum?

Edit: :boggled:

I know right, I have two porches a McLearn and so far I haven't dropped a penny!!! Crazy right!!

I honestly only wanted to Change the name not move the forum.. My bad..

I've found the that saving the gold coins and letting cars take there time a repairs helps me buy super cars in less than a week.

We were talking about this game a little in this thread. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=202006

I have been playing this for about a week and it is an amazing game. The audio and graphics are quite impressive. But my new Android Fusion 2 does not seem to like it much. In fact I had a massive lockup on my phone over the weekend playing this game. Had to remove the battery to reset it. Seems almost like a bit too much for my phone. In fact I lost everything for this game and had to restart.

I'm thinking EA will push this to consoles. They need something to compete in the sim realm of racing games since SMS is doing their own thing. IIRC the first Real Racing game was self published?

Why would they push it to consoles? We already have GT, Forza, and Shift for sim games.

My old phone would do the same... But my new nexus 4 goes full fps on most high end graphics games. But I'm still a noob, the only car I have is the S15.

"We" might have GT & (some have) Forza, Shift was garbage anyway and was (past tense emphasized) made by SMS, they are doing Project CARS. Most Wanted isn't a sim, nor is Hot Pursuit or The Run. So, EA doesn't have a sim. The question is, why wouldn't they?

The dev team specialise in mobile gaming. I don't think Criterion or Ghost are up for porting a sim either, and EA in house ports are fails, look at the PS3 port of The Orange Box, the framerate is all over the place.

Started playing this last week and am addicted. Going the tune everything to the max route on the iPhone and have 4 cars, and going the just buy cars, no upgrades on the iPad and have 12 cars. Not spent a penny in real cash and never will on any in app purchase.

IMO Its more of an arcade race than a sim because all you do is steer and brake, but I can't help thinking that some of their ideas would work in the GT world too. For example, you drive like a loon and wreck your car, it costs a bundle of cash to fix and the servicing takes a few minutes too. If you have one car then you wait (or pay real money), otherwise hop into another car.

If GT penalised the bad racers with time and in game money then it is a step forward in cleaning up the racing. I'm not saying replicate the exact same system as in Real Racing 3, but the idea works well here and can be improved on.

@gnorman:

You can set the controls so you can control throttle, brake, and steering. Much more enjoyable that way.

I'm up to 16 cars including the ZL1 and Porsche 918 RSR Concept. Fun fun fun wifi or 4G I don't seem to have any issues... My advice, spend your gold wisely. I rarely use as I'm saving up for those two or three cars you can buy with it. I've already picked up the Porsche and MP12-4C on Gold w/o spending money...

I've gotten about 35 cars; not a dime spent. The only ones I need are those pesky 150+ gold coin cars. I currently have 98 gold coins and 699,000 R$.

They are using in game currency but from winnings instead of using real money to get the currency or packs like EA wants you to do.

Shoot, I need to get back on their myself. I think I have all the cars except for the ZL1 and Cobalt SS, which will be getting bought today. :)

Edit: all 48 cars are mine! :)

This game is awesome. I can't even believe it's a free app aswell!

I have been playing on and off for a couple of weeks, and I have a S15, and a Focus RS, and a R34.

Love it!

Does anyone feel like there are some bad unannounced changes with the update? I feel like the one car I have driven since then loses grip much easier, more repairs were needed with minor contact, oil seemed to go down quicker, and the AI seemed faster (I race with Wifi off). I know I need to play more to get a true feel but I wasn't happy.

I finally bought my 2nd car last night. The Silvia was on sale for 20% off. I have only been using in game money. In fact I have never used real money for any microtransaction in any game.

I've gotten the Silvia, Focus ST, and the MP4-12C without spending any real money. Has anyone else noticed the Corvette ZR1 yet? I saw a few AI using it yesterday. If there was a thread for this game before, this thread is getting so much action you might as well rename it and make it the new main one

One of the guys from Firemonkeys named Sam said it was a tester for the game.

Looks like you've spotted a tester

We're working to make sure this doesn't happen again, but consider this a little accidental sneak peek of things. We've always said new cars are on their way, and new tracks are coming too.

Yeah I've seen the ZR1 a few times. I'm hoping it becomes available in the dealership.

Just sign into your game centre account with your Apple ID, on the other device.

I wish it was that easy. I've just started playing on my iPad. I do the initial race around Laguna Seca. When I go to my profile on my iPad, I have the Facebook login and delete data option. But on my phone where I have a few hours of play, I can sync with the cloud.

Why is the sync option not on the iPad? As for Game Center, it signs me in automatically on any game that supports it, on either device.

Update:

For some reason, after doing the update on my iPad, I was able to load the save from my iPhone.

I was going to ask if you had the latest version of the Apple OS, and the updated version of Real Racing. Lol.

I cant believe it!!!! This game has Mount Panorama (Bathurst) !!!! My favorite track! I have only played a couple games that have this track . Toca race driver and Shift 2.
