I read this on a Japanese news site, hope it clears up some questions...

"In an interview today, an unnamed source from PD came clean about the real reason for the continuous GT4 release delays. Apparently KY finished the game late one night in the office and took it home on a disc so he could personally present it to manufacturers for reproduction the next day. After several celebratory rounds of sake with friends at his home, he passed out. Apparently, months and months of delays were merely a stall-tactic to find the missing game, which recently turned up underneath a couple of couch cushions. It was slightly scratched, but the source says this won't affect the game's graphics 'too much.' "

*Yes, this is just a joke, I know even in the context of the story, he could have made another copy...but just laugh anyway, not like we have anything better to do :)
*Does anyone else have any (funny) ideas of why gt4 hasn't been released yet?

They are still working on subliminal messages that will give PD an army of GT nuts to take over half the planet. It seems they are having issues understanding how to make us thing about something else besides cars :sly:

Yeah subliminal messages like GT3 had:

"The PS2 is an all conquering super computer!"
"Sony never lies"
"There is more to this game then the same championship over & over again"
"Actually racing on the Test Course is fun & challenging in a MX-5"
"This game is more real than real"
"The PS2 will only ever be out powered by the PS3"
"Xbox gamers are the spawn of satan"

Etc...

Unfortunately my disc was faulty ;)

You've all got it wrong...

The reason for the delay is that we hadn't brought enough copies of GT, GT2, GT3, GTC, GT4P for the staff at PD to purchase all the cars they wanted to model for the complete GT4 game.

They found that when sales were strong and they announced a possible release date (based on sales continuing at present levels...), but what they found is people would think "#@*# it, instead of buying this I'll wait for Gt4" What would result is people stopped purchasing the previous aforementioned releases of the game... thus income stream wasn't a such that they could purchase all these cars for GT4, thus reluctantly had to announce a delay in the release of the game.

The public realising that the game was now months away, slowing decided to purchase the aforementioned previous copies of earlier games until a point where sales were strong enough for PD to announce a release date for GT4, but what they found is people would think "#@*# it, instead of buying this I'll wait for Gt4" What would result is people stopped purchasing the previous aforementioned releases of the game... thus income stream wasn't a such that they could purchase all these cars for GT4, thus reluctantly had to announce a delay in the release of the game.

Well,
Either I close this or move it to the comedy corner.

Which one?
I decide.

Comedy corner it is.

Yes, that is a real SUbaru add. I have it in a few of my MOTOR mags too. I find that funny, but the stary about the delay isn't very funny.

GT4 isn't a game at all. It's a Digital universe with aliens living inside it. The FCC is actually an alien organization and PD is inside the game fighting for custody of it, along with the MIB (they really exist!). Kazunori Yamauchi is watching over the original disk (Digital world) right now. There is a tournament going on right now as I speak (or type, I should say) inside the game. If the FCC wins, the game will be cancelled, and the FCC and the bush campaign will be the evil rulers of the USA. If the MIB and PD win the championship, the game will be released Before March 2005 and Bush would have to resign from presidency (he's an alien, too! ;).

"All your car are belong to us."

Does anyone else apart from me fail to see what the big joke is concerning the above sentence?

It has been interpreted as near enough hilarious by other GT members and i dont get the joke.

Would anyone care to elaborate?

Original sentence appeared in an older video arcade game (perhaps a space invaders or missile command clone - i forgot):

"All your bases are belong to us"

It`s often used as a negative example for bad translations, but the variation might tell us why we have to wait so looong (due to localization).
