Real tracks that should be in GT5

I would like to see more American tracks as we have only 3. Infineon Raceway was one of my favorites from GT4. Also, Portland International Raceway is great for high-speed racing along with long J-style curves. It even has a top-of-the-line dragstrip!

If EA and Codemasters can afford it, surely PD can too. If only we were able to create our own tracks...

Well I bet thats why PD didn't give people total control over track building as World Tracks would be popping up everywhere without a licence.

PD...daft not stipid...

SPA, Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Melbourne, Imola, Montreal, Intrelagos, Istanbul
thats what GT5 needs - hopefully it will get some of those till GT6 comes out

Here is one from the American Le Mans Series.

Mid Ohio Sports Car Circuit. The track opened as a 15-turn, 2.4 mile (3.86 km) road circuit run clockwise. The back portion of the track allows speeds approaching 180 mph (290 km/h). A separate starting line is located on the backstretch to allow for safer rolling starts. The regular start/finish line is located on the pit straight. In 1990, the track underwent a refurbishment. A new retaining wall was built, the entire track was resurfaced, widened, and concrete was paved in the apexes of the turns to prevent asphalt deterioration. In addition, a straightaway was paved through the chicane, allowing for two different track layouts, the original 2.4-mile (3.9 km) circuit, and a new 13-turn, 2.25 mile (3.62 km) circuit.

I thought Zolder was in Belgium?

But I really wish Spa and Paul Ricard were in this game. Silverstone too, because its British and I love the Maggots/Becketts section

Oh yeah, and Portimao, love that track :)

The AVUS :

Here is the replacement for the Avus

EuroSpeedway Lausitz This race track is located near Klettwitz (a civil parish of Schipkau, Oberspreewald-Lausitz district) in the state of Brandenburg in Eastern Germany, near the borders of Poland and the Czech Republic. It was originally named Lausitzring as it is located in the region the Germans call Lausitz (Lusatia), but was renamed "EuroSpeedway Lausitz" for better international communication. The EuroSpeedway has been in use for motor racing since 2000. Among other series, DTM (German Touring Car Championship) and Superbike World Championship take place there annually.

Panorama shot of the speedway from the grandstands. The EuroSpeedway has a feature which is unique in continental Europe: a high-speed oval race track, as used in the United States by NASCAR and the Indy Racing League. The 3.2 km (2 mi) tri-oval (similar to Pocono Raceway) was used twice in 2001 and 2003 by open seater CART races named German 500 (won by Kenny Bräck and Sébastien Bourdais), plus a few British SCSA races. In 2005 and 2006, the German Formula Three Championship held races at the oval,[2][3] with a pole position lap average speed of 251.761 km/h[4] and a race average of 228.931 km/h.[5]

It has to be said.....This is one serious track. Get this one in PD!!!!!

-> PD, if any of these tracks mentioned earlier (which most are outside Japan) are too far and too expensive, why not aquire some tracks that are closer to home?

-> And in memory to the victims of the Sendai tragedy:

Sportsland SUGO (was damaged by the quake)

-> Or, just revive any of your created race tracks from past GT series, its a very cost effective solution. I would love to see Infinion and any old Fuji Speedway variations (loved the '80s & '90s) back!

:)

Yes, great track 👍 One of my favourites from Toca WTC on the PS1 :D

The Hermanos Rodriguez is in a videogame already??? I wanna see it!!! :dopey:

On another note... I'd like to see the Pescara Circuit... the only circuit that can match Nurburgring in terms of length :)

In fact, I attempted to recreate it with the track editor... Even tough I got the track layout more or less like the original one... I can't recreate it's length... 16 miles! :dopey:

My first suggestion would be Spa with all its variations.

Then Silverstone, again, all variations, then Monza, all variations. I really like the look of the monza layout below.

Some period cars to go with the old track layouts would be awesome as well.

Totally! Tearing around in an old AU C Type or D Type would be sublime around Monza in its old configuration.

We need more point-to-point tracks in GT5 and in GT games in general. A suggestion for the rally car owners amongst us considering this could be the ice track at Lillehammer, most recently featured in Top Gear when James May riding shotgun in an Evo rally car raced against Richard Hammond in a bobsled down the bobsleigh run which runs right alongside the rally course.

A track I personally like very much which was a part of my childhood is the street circuit at Surfers' Paradise, Australia. I was introduced to this track in a Dreamcast game more than a decade ago called Flag to Flag, which was a CART game, and it was a wonderful juxtaposition of fast straights, sudden chicanes which a Champ Car can take while going 120 and slow corners. There are lots of opportunities for drivers to bunch up when overtaking.

Now here's someone who knows a thing or two about the history of motorsport!!!
The Pescara track would be mind-blowing!!! Same goes for Isle of Mann, the old Monza, replete with banking and also the old 8mile odd Spa circuit. Reims too.
The possibility of doing the Mille Miglia or Targa Florio in a Stirling Moss Merc SLR would be incredible but I fear this is out of the reach of the power of the PS3 :(

How long have you got? Brands Hatch, Sebring, Road America, Pau, Spa, Bathurst, Surfers Paradise, Zolder, Imola, Paul Ricard...I could go on for literally days.

I am quite new to PS3/GT5 and I absolutely love the game, but was pretty surprised with the lack of circuits - what with the 1000s to choose from around the world!

I'm a motorsport fan rather than a pimp my ride kind of dude but I know the game has to cater for everyone. It just interests me when a lot of people go on about 'realism' when talking about the cars, driving, set-ups, etc, but the 'realism' of where we're actually racing the cars doesn't seem to matter to some :odd:

I miss these circuits from GT4/2:

Pike's Peak
Infineon
Twin Ring Motegi

Rome Night
Tahiti Maze....oh, those aren't real!

Real ones I'd love to see:

Spa
Silverstone
Magny Cours
Hockenheim, old and new
Istanbul F1
Bathurst
Donington

This post has now gone on for long enough now and should come to a close.

But PD take note!! There have been a lot of good tracks that have been mentioned in this thread that are wanted in GT5, among them is Spa and Mt Panorama which seems to be two of the fave's.

If Gran Turismo really is the "Real Driving Simulator" then more real tracks are required in this game.

Many thanks to all those who contributed.
