Huh, I wonder if that's just a UK thing. I was in a full 16 car room last night with a bunch of japanese and US guys drifting and I never had any problems. Well aside from my ISP being a pile and losing my connection constantly... arse faces...

I don't talk much when racing anyway, as I tend to lap slower and lose a bit of focus.

Our efforts may be thwarted this evening... PSN down for "Unscheduled Maintainace"... I can't sign in and they don't have a time for when it will be functional again. Hope this isn't another hack...

Just about to leave work and doing my usual check of the site, noticed the same thing going on. We'll see 👎
 
PSN is back up for me and a couple of people on my friends list are also online, so we should still be OK for tonight. I'll add you now that I'm online, Berty. I'll probably be in my lounge from half past, if anyone's on. Otherwise I'll just wait for people to sign in.
 
Cool, message me when youhave the relevant people in the room. Ill have a quick run through with you then go back to practice (only because its 1.5 hours late starting).
 
Where will we do our caution testing? I'm guessing Indy. Who's testing tonight anyway? Is it all of us for once?
 
I can come and give you another driver for half an hour :) It is Indy right?

Yep it'll be Indy when I finish setting up the room. You'd may as well join now and I'll message berty. See if you two can join without any connection issues. If not, I'll reset my router again.

Sorry for the issues, I've reset my router and we can try again, though PSN is telling me that berty was last online some 28 hours ago. >__>

I think it could be me mate. My NAT has usually been type 2, but just checked now and it's jumped to 3. Very annoyed, this basically screws up my online racing.

A fix that works for me: quit the game, go to Settings in the XMB, then go down to network settings. Select that, and then disconnect the PS3 from the internet with the second option "Internet Connection". Then let it connect again by reversing that option. Hopefully your NAT type will change.

Wow, my PS3 says that my NAT type is "failed". >__> I might have to use the fix myself.

EDIT: Yep, I'm back to type 2.
 
Annoying isn't it? I thought I had a good connection! :p With all these internet problems at my end I'm gonna call it a night, but I'm gonna ask my IT consultant mate tomorrow if there's anything I can do to permanently stay at NAT 2. Will let you know if things improve, good luck if you get a session going, will try and join in another night when my router works :(

May test my connection once more, to get an idea of the situation. Ha ha.
 
Yeah, the fix I posted is the quickest thing I can do to change it back (the next is resetting the router). We'll have to test another night then. I don't know why berty got disconnected, and why PSN tells me he last signed in 28 hours ago. BUT, I can still have some team practice with Knelly tonight.

Sorry I wasn't on I figured PSN was gonna be down for a while so I haven't even turned my PS3 on. Is anyone still on testing?
 
PSN issues got in the way of testing apparently, and it wasn't my connection for once. I think the 3.72 patch may have helped my connection.
 
For me it was definatley PSN rather than anything else so not too much to worry about. Give me a shout next time and we can try again.
 
After practicing with knelly last night, we think that Daytona Road may not be the best track to start with, mainly due to how unforgiving it can be with small mistakes. (We're also about 80% guaranteed a first lap first corner crash, and if we use the safety car on road courses, this is probably the track it'd be busiest at.) I was thinking about possibly starting with Tokyo, and having Daytona Road later in the season as the 3rd road course race, as Daytona Road will provide a better race once we've gotten a bit of experience.

I also forgot to ask a question before: are we allowed to run wide and outside of the white line on the second to last corner of Indy Road? (Where you rejoin the oval)


EDIT:We'll be testing cautions in about 45 minutes time, if anyone else wants to join. (At the time of writing, its 8:17pm)

Yes I agree, the first corner of that track with a full grid is just asking for an accident, will move it back until people are used to the cars. And I don't think so, it doesn't offer much of an advantage really, what do you think?
 
Well, you can take the corner smoother and be easier on the tyres if you run wide. Personally, I'd like to be able to run wide there.


Also, berty is currently having a free run practice session for his FGTC series, and I've not had a reply back yet as to whether he can join us for caution testing.
 
I'll leave it open so people can do whatever, it's not a huge issue :) Okay, let me know if he gets back to you, if not we can do tomorrow night.
 
He didn't get back to me, but he's no longer practicing in his room, so we should be fine.

I'll be in my lounge setting it up in about 10 minutes.
 
Somebody send me an FR :) and are there really any colors that would go with real Indy car teams? I know there's Green/Yellow for Lotus and there's Green/White/Orange sort of like Force India in F1, just don't know the name of the Indy team
 
I know that the red FGTs can be the Target cars. Apparently the silver/black one can be like a Verizon car (I think it's Will Power's?). Green/yellow can be the Lotus sponsored cars. Can't think of any others right now, but I'm sure there's some more that work.

I'll send you an FR.
 
Well the only one i've got is a White/Green Castrol one, I'll have to look. Ok Joe, I'll be on in 5 or 10.

EDIT: http://www.indycar.com/teams/ these are all the color schemes, looks like I'll be either HVM racing or Novo Nordisk :p

Lemme just do a time trial and I'll be in :)

Tony Kanaan is my favorite driver and he drives for Lotus, I like Helio Castroneves too
