Alot of online racing problems for DS3 would be helped if they simply had the rear view mirror option on the full car view that alot of DS3 users tend to use. Has there been any discussion on why this was taken out or if it could/would be put in the game at some point in a patch. I truly love the work that has gone into this game after release, and prefer it to the idea that a game is ever truly finished before the next one comes out and I'm hoping it continues to improve.

Press the look-back button. Problem solved. Turn the map on, set it to zoom level 2, and orient to the car. Problem solved.

AFAIK the mirror has only ever been in bumper view since GT1. Using roof cam or chase cam already gives you a huge advantage by being able to see to the sides, and the higher points of view give you a huge advantage by being able to read the exact position of your car better.

I use the look back button but I can't use it in the middle of a turn in daytona which is where the biggest problems develop. Maybe it wasn't GT that had it, but I know racing games in the past have had it. I don't see what the advantage is of it besides avoiding wrecking people unintentionally.

would like to have the rear mirror in split screen :)
The full car view already offers enough sight (however i never got it why its used - feels so artificial and dull)

I use it primarily because I dont have a wheel therefore I don't have feedback to tell me how far is too far down near the apron of the track. Its just easier to keep track of. I will admit I hadn't seen the map controls and that does help quite a bit. It also helps an inexperienced driver see the apex of the corner better.

The close-up map is very helpful. Zoomed out, it helps you see what corners are coming, but you really shouldn't need that after 25 laps around a track. I find on zoom level 1 the cars become much bigger than the icons on the map which can cause problems, so I leave it at 2.

It's kind of a cheat, but without 360 degree picture and sound you're kind of starting from a handicap anyway. It's a lot easier to see than the little arrows a lot of games use.

Yeah a mirror option for every view would be great.

And for those saying look back (clever and oh so unhelpfull), in some cars all you will see is an engine or the back seats, and even in cars where you get a bit of a view out the back it will typically be a sliver of a view. when compared to the bumper cams mirror its lacking in its scope.

Sometimes I'll want to change my veiw but when I realize there isn't a rear view mirror I have to switch back as I dont want to risk crashing into others due to lack of visability.

A ) Only an issue in Cockpit View (which I use exclusively if available BTW).

B ) Completely negated by the use of a zoomed-in MiniMap.

C ) Not really that bad... in all but a couple of cars, you can see plenty to be able to tell if you need to be careful in the upcoming corner -- and which side to watch.

D ) In all but Cockpit View, C does not apply and we're still talking about a disadvantage that comes along with a view that has an inherent advantage.

You must of played need for speed and got the idea from it. I think its a bad idea coz there will be to many things goin on on the screen

I think the reason it's not available in the chase cam and roof cam is because the game already has to use some memory to display your car. Having it also display a mirror would require that it also render a ****-ton more stuff. This isn't a problem in the bumper cam because it doesn't need to render the car.

But this doesn't explain why the cockpit view can have rear and wing mirrors, however poorly rendered they are.
