Your profile has the following setting that is probably causing this:

Watch threads when creating or replying: Yes, with email

@weazelgt, be sure to check the setting that Famine mentioned above. You can modify those settings in your account preferences.

Note those settings apply to any new threads you participate in. To manage threads you are already subscribed to, visit this page. You will see a "Manage Watched Threads" link in the top right; click that to unsubscribe from email notifications to all threads at the same time.

Additionally, every email you receive will contain links in the bottom which allow you to disable all email notifications from the site.
