I'm looking for a specific kind of car. Basically I want a quirky car, like a less powerful version of a F1 car. Something that revs high and accelerates fast but low power. Something light.

I bought a ARTA Garaiya....But it sounds like crap so I'm looking for something different.

Not really sure what's out there...

Cusco Impreza 03 or 08 model.
Preferably the 08 model in the cockpit with no HUD. It comes across as slow but it does a 7:10 around Nurburgring (my best so far) but the most immersive "realistically" powered race car in the game IMO.
I think it cranks to 380ish. :)

Fully tuned 99 Integra type r, very good car and handle well, max out at 348hp/8800rpm and weight in at 918kg if you do stage3 weight reduction, I left mine on stage2 so it 962kg....or you could get the Suzuki GSX-R4 like iLex say but it hard to come by

Spoon S2000 Race Car?
It revs up to 11,500 RPM.
That thing is crazy fun, but isn't as fast as the Cusco Impreza.

I am a huge fan of the NSX '91 RM. Great car.
Also the Elise 111R RM '04 & S2000 LM Race Car (found in the UCD) are quite fun. I'll echo the Integra and add the Civic Type R (EK) RM '97 as well.

what about the Subraru Touring Car? think you can buy it for 500k.. standard bhp is something like 249 but im sure if you add a few things you can get it to the 300-400 mark

In that power-range I'll choose the Superautobax Apex Toyota MR-S. It might not be the quickest, but I just love to drive that car :)

The Honda NSX-R LM Road car from the UCD costs 500k, but boy is it worth it. Sounds like the Formula GT because it revs to 10,500rpm or something. Handles brilliantly because of great aero and mid-engined balance, AND it's forgiving (to a point) because it's a full-bodied car (not an open-wheeled tub).

Another brilliant quirky car is the purple Celica GT300 (forget the name, it's in the UCD for 350k or something). It's actually got a GT500 Supra engine in it, it's RWD, and a joy to drive.

if you're looking for something cheaper, go to Mazda and pick up a AZ-1. Tune it for a lot more power and stick softs on it. Little rice-bucket it THE single most spritely ting in the game next to the kart.

Do you own a Civic IRL?

Oh, my god, here we go again... the typical "do you own this car in real life and therefore know how it should sound? If not how could you possibly have an opinion about the sound in GT5? BTW everything in GT5 is perfect!" comeback.

The enginesounds in GT5 ar subpar for the majority of cars. It´s as simple as that. Although GT5 is pretty much awesome when it comes to physics and visuals. There is no doubt about that. But the sounds do suck badly in most cases.

On topic: It sounds like your looking for either a Elise, or a S2000. A really light, but slighty more powerful than you specified car is the mazda furai concept. Pretty fast that little thing

Now that we're back on topic, I'd like to third the Elise 111R RM motion. Fantastic car. Gives crappy drivers in cars w/ 3x the power fits.

I'm going to suggest the Elise RM, not the 111R though, but just because I personally prefer that one.

I like the old group B rallycars, especially the peugeot T16 on road or dirt what a little ripper!!

Alfa Romeo TZ2 with a turbo makes roughly 240hp and handles pretty well. Not extremely fast, but lightweight and manuverable.

Wedsport Lexus is nice, I think. The Asparadrink RX-7 is also a worthy alternative.

NSX Type R 02 is nearly unbeatable if you have a good setup. I've beaten subi cusco, arta garaya etc.. with mine.

the Suzuki GSX-R/4 is the perfect car for this my friend, it's an absolute flier

it can only be tuned up to 283 from its stock 172bhp, yet it weighs just 572kg when fully lightened - believe me, it flies! handles so well too, and acceleration is awesome thanks to the low weight

it can even do 180-190mph with such little power, due to its weight! damn

beats 500-600bhp supercars/GT cars no problem

And it is kinda quirky :)

The Honda S2000 LM Race Car is a nice car that might be what you're looking for. 👍

This Suzuki GSX-R/4 you all are talking about...is it Premium or Standard? Not a "snob"...just wondering if I can buy it now and where. Thanks.

Caterham Fireblade

256HP Max / 350kg

It's pretty hard to drive, you almost certainly will need a wheel, but if you can master it you will be taking down anything within 100-150hp of you.

This.

I have the '03 model, and it's awesome. Can't wait to buy the '08 model though.

Bought and drove the 08 Cusco, its an awesome car. Really lacking in the power department but it drives so well...AWD and all...

Can't believe you were the only person to mention the Caterham.

OP, you want quirky? That's quirky. And difficult. But fun as anything!

Ditto and Ditto.
I can't get enough of the Caterham. That car is so light - remember, it is a motorcycle in a race car costume. So cool, and fun to drive. I love taking it on the TGTT. Quirky is an understatement. It comes up fairly often in the UCD. I bought mine when i really couldn't afford it very early on, just because it is so nice to look at. I know of three times since then that it has come up... i even considered buying a second or third one, but logically, i couldn't do it.

This is the car you seek.

Add my voice to those suggesting the Fireblade and the 'Zuki GSX/R4! Both very flickable, high-revving, ultralight MONSTERS!

And unfortunately, both only Standard models - available in the UCD...

edit: Also really liking the Lotus Elise RM with all the trimmings... Not so quirky as the other two, but a real joy to get flying on a twisty road!
