Well I'm not going to install that any time soon.
Opened the box and found a big "WARNING!" inside. Reading on it tells me I must connect the GPU to the power supply (
PS from here on) of my PC.
Now there is just a big bunch of wires coming out of my PS, with a variety of different shaped pin-plugs here and there.
The "WARNING!" had a picture flow-chart showing the graphics card being connected to the PS, but it only shows one connection, although there are two slots on the GPU for power. Do I connect them both? Which random pin-plugs in my PC are the right ones to connect? One of the plugs (coming out of the PS) says "PC" on it, the other says "PF" (I think - I've just put the screws back in, pretty sure it said PF). What are these?
Why couldn't the GPU instructions just tell me
exactly what plugs to put where???
I hate this guessing game nonsense
EDIT: just watched a tutorial on YouTube. Guy already had 2 cables the same size coming from his PS that plugged straight into his new GPU.
Oh the despair. Why is it never easy?
Double EDIT: I don't think I have enough power cables to accommodate this 6870.
There's two cables supplied with the GPU, which perfectly fit the aforementioned "PC" plug. I'm pretty sure that would be to connect to the 6870. But I need two of said PC plugs coming from my PS.
Can I have another added, or is it new computer time?
