I was asking on another forum, how do you get the Red Bull X1 if you were not gifted one, don't have $20M, and have to earn it the hard way?

I got this reply: "When you hit level 30, a- or b-spec, you unlock the Sebastian Vettel Challenge, which you can bronze to earn the Red Bull X1. Silver gets you a random-colored X1. Gold gets you the prototype, but is also 3 types of impossible. At level 40 you can also buy one from the Gran Turismo dealership, even though it shows up at level 30. Additionally, you get a free one at level 35 in b-spec."

So first, is this true? And second, he mentions it is near impossible to beat. Anyone beat this track and get the X1? If you did, what car did you use and the settings?

I am at Level 29 A-Spec right now and would like to attempt getting the X1.

Thank you for your help.

It's very challenging. You need a steering wheel, if possible because you need to be very, very precise with the car to manage to get Gold. But, it's alright because the time for Bronze has been extended.

I didn't use a steering wheel and easily beat bronze.

I had no luck with the DS3, even to make bronze. I just hunkered down and ran continuous B-Spec endurance races nonstop for a couple days until I hit level 35. It was definitely worth it though. The car is amazing (not to mention you can use it to rubber-band your way to tons of cash in A-Spec).

If you can't bronze it with your controllers, it probably won't be of much use to you. After they changed the bronze time, it became incredibly easy to get it.

If you just want it for B-Spec, the FGT will help you get to 35 and then you can get it for free. Plus with all the remote racing it should be even easier.

All of what you posted (what you read on that other forum) is true, EXCEPT that it's not "3 kinds of impossible" to Gold the Vettel Challenges. By all accounts, it's HARD, but there are several people here who have done it. I am not one of them. :)

I wouldn't say incredibly easy to get bronze, but it's definitely doable. Just run the challenge and get bronze, and you'll have the car. Who cares how hard it is to get Gold if you don't need Gold to get the car?

My only problem with the challenges is that you have to drive the car on the edge of sanity to get any decent time with it. When the fact is, once you actually earn the car, you don't have to drive it nearly as hard in order to win any race by many many laps. When I'm racing it, I feel like I'm taking it for a Sunday drive, and I'm still blowing the doors off everything else around it.

Speak for yourself please. It still is not an easy event.

Indeed... Contrary to what the l33t braggers like to claim, it's still freaking difficut to bronze the challenges with a controller. Certainly impossible for me.

The Vettel X1 @ b-spec level 35 is the easiest to obtain.

Luckily I got my collection of X1s before the ban on trading kicked in. They're fun to drive and Bob loves them. 👍

wow people have no patience anymore it seems...... i almost bronzed it before 1.07, missig out on nub by 0.009 and suzuka by a second. this took like, 12 hours total (over like 5 days, im not that sad lol)

bt then 1.07 came out and i had 2 really scruffy laps and some very slow times and did nurb and suzuka second time.

just have patience and practice, its the hardest event in the game for a reason. average gamers with controllers can nly hope for bronze. only heard of 2 people who've golded with controllers

im a DS3 user btw

i recomend:
TC 2
SRF on
ABS 2
Sensetivity 4

makes for a fun drive :)

I have a full time job and a family. I don't have time to sit down and run one event repeatedly for 12 hours over several days like I did when I was younger. Much easier to use the Ron Popeil method of "set it and forget it" on the B-Spec endurance races. At least that only requires a couple minutes of your time every few hours.

The Vettel challenge is difficult, but not impossible by any means. Once you know the X2010, you will love it. You have to train yourself that you hardly have to lift throttle in the corners, and you have to learn to steer very quickly. Braking is almost not necessary as the car will not break loose on the pavement. Just don't hang a wheel out on the edge of the track because it will spin if it hits grass.

But overall, it is a freak of a car and a blast to drive. I love the Tokyo R246 track with that car. My best time on that track is a 56.432....probably not the fastest on here, but still plenty quick.

Hey dude, it's not impossible with a controller to at least bronze the Vettel. I really tried to pass the old times but I simply could not do it. Then when they raised the times for bronze, one day I decided to attempt the challenge again and in an hour I bronzed all three tracks. It takes practice and patience. I couldn't tell you how many times I went off the track before completing one lap, with each time I got more and more frustrated. Gooooosfraba lol.

The feeling of accomplishment. not to mention the video accompanying the car you win, makes all the cussing, long nights, and empty beer cans worth it.

He said he did that over a period of 5 days....
