Ok, I have tried to find answer for this question but there isn`t anywhere answers what would confinrm that Red MOMO is working or isn`t working with GT4. All asnwers are suggestions or something else.

So please someone who have tried GT4 with Red MOMO or have 100% sure about it please answer is there any support for this wheel or not.

Thanks!

I wish I could give you a difinitive answer. All I can tell you is I too have the Red Momo force wheel and tried last night to hook it up, it powered up and centered but I could not for the life of me get anything to work on it. I seem to recall when I got it for GT3 it took some tinkering to get it to work as it was supposedly not supported but outside of having power absolutely NOTHING worked on GT4.

I hope there is something I am missing here as I would love to use this wheel for GT4 but at this point it doesn't look good.

It says it will not work with GT4 in this article.

I have the red MOMO force wheel and it does NOT work with GT4. I'm pissed. How could it work with GT3 and not GT4? Those bastards obviously did this intentionally so more of the Driving Force Pro's would sell.

Seriously, I wonder if there is any way to modify the wheel to get the PS2 to see it as compatible. Does anybody have any info on this??????

IMO, the 900 degree DFP is the essence of GT4. Playing witout it is like playing FPS with a joypad rather than keyboard and mouse.

Don't think the MOMO will work. Should get the DFP.

I've got the red MOMO Force wheel and the DFP, and I must say the DFP is lightyears ahead. Sell the MOMO Force on eBay (they are fairly popular at the moment), and you'll be able to buy the DFP.

More and more people are saying that 900 degress is overkill and ridiculous, I've heard time and time again that 200 degrees would have been PLENTY.

Yeah, it would probably have been plenty, but that doesn't hurt the quality or enjoyment that the wheel provides at all.

Certainly, and its a better wheel than the original, I was just noting that the 900 degrees of steering was a serious marketing gimmick.

The best example of this has to be the last "coffee break" - the S License one. I almost ripped my desk apart, then I unplugged the DFP from my ps2, picked up my controller, and did a lot better!

I'm wondering if I should even bother upgrading from my DF to a DFP. I absolutely love my DF ( 200 degree ). I've used nothing but since I got the game. Amazing realism, especially while running down long stretches at top speed... Let go of your wheel and watch the car get the "death wobble"

Not to mention torque steer for front wheel drive cars and the fact that rear wheel drive cars will lurch on you too....very cool details. I'm much impressed.

I don't think the 900* was a marketing gimick. Is the same steering ratio in your real life car a gimick too? The DFP and your car have about the same steering ratio. When your driving at speed in your real car you will only be using 90ish degrees of your wheel, because thats all the tires need to keep grip with the ground. I love the DFP because its just like driving a real car in almost every way. The exceptions being that you don't have a real shifter and your not driving a real car, everything else about it is perfect.

200* wheel is pointless now, I can't go back to that ratio after driving 900*. Its just like i'm driving my real car, what is better than that?

How does the shifter work on the DFP? The paddle shifters are nice, but I wonder what it would be like having to turn and remove a hand from the wheel and shift that knob ( granted, it's like driving a real car, but who's shifted a Mc Claren at 150mph around a banked turn lately? )

Every car has a different steering ratio so how cna you say the DFP is the same as a real car? I drive a 2003 Corvette Z06, I assure you my steering wheel doesn't move 900 degrees, its just not necessary.

I guess you missed the part where I say,

Notice the key word, about. I didn't say every car has 900*, just that many cars have something about the same to the DFP's 900*

BTW, how many turn's does it take to turn your steering wheel all the way in the vette? Just one direction until you can't turn it anymore?

I guess to get back on topic......I have a red MOMO and it DOES NOT WORK. Others have said the same thing. I've been waiting for 1 year for this game now I have to go out and buy another wheel for it to work? Looks like my MOMO is going on Ebay!

Nice Move. Buy DFP asap its a must for all GT fans. Who ever does'nt have one is missing out. 👍

Not having met 3rdgen, but knowing of his reputation, he's fast. No understatement.

You'll post up your fast time, and he'll still find two seconds you didn't know was there.

I used to have a red MOMO, but gave someone a great deal when I realized I didn't have the time to set it up and take it down, much less the space to store it.

The 2003 Z06 has 2.6 turns lock to lock, which is actually 936 degrees of rotation. To be fair, that's an exceptionally fast steering ratio on a production car, but 900 degrees is certainly not overkill. Now, on a track, you're rarely using more than 270 degrees or so of the 900 degrees, but it's nice that you're not bumping into the stops on the DFP when you're driving in GT3.

Whoever asked about the shifter on the DFP: it's much easier for me to use than the Momo's paddles. For most shifts you don't even need to take your whole hand off the wheel; and for deep-lock turns it's much easier to shift than with the Momo, where you had to remember which paddle to use with the wheel upside down and your hands off position.

Garrett
i thought it had an option to limit the stearing to a 200°? or an i mistaken

Depends on the car you're driving, I believe. Even so, you'll have it upside down and backwards with your hands in mixed possisions and the pattles on the wrong sides. The paddles SHOULD be connected to the column, not the wheel. That way they don't move.

No, it is possible to set the DFP to 200 degree mode on any car. Also, if you have the wheel turned that much you can just hit the stick to shift. They are both enabled as shifters at the same time by GT4.

Personally I think it sucks beyond belief that they have purposely removed support for the Momo Force. Why should I buy a DFP (I have tried on as my bro has one), when I have a perfectly good (in fact excellent) logitech wheel already that is perfectly compatible with GT4 if they hadn't taken the support out. I haven't got room for 2 wheels nor do I want 2 sets of pedals. I want to use my Momo and they are denying me that. It isn't going to make me buy a DFP more likely I will simply get rid of GT4.

Luckily I still have my old Logitech Formula Force GP which works, but again I dont want to constantly swap between that and my Momo for when I race PC games.

They have denied some gamers of the pleasure of their game by doing this which benefits nobody. Boo to Polyphony for doing this, it's just plain mean for no good reason.
