None of this run and gun crap, with prone and lean!
I was getting jaded with FPS, but this will lure me back. Has elements of the squad control in Brothers in Arms series now it seems.

-60 Player LAN
-Spawing close to your squad but not in view of enemies
-Play against bots
-Destructible environments

How the tanks work - you can have full AI crew members now

Well there's not very many good ones, and I'll think you'll find most FPS's currently are set in modern eras.

Anyone still on this.
I have it on preorder.

It is the prefect tie to hold on till BF3.

I preorderd it from Green man gaming for $27!
They had a 35% off special a few weeks back!
You just get a code for Steam to unlock it

A lot more realistic than BF3.....

A lot less popular too though.

I'll keep an eye on it. See how it looks when it comes out. Don't know if I'll spend $40 for 2 months until BF3 though. It does look good.

Depends on what kind of experience you want

RO games have a more cohesive frontline feel, more thoughtful and tactical.
Like real combat. With more open maps

BF games like most casual FPS shooters, have chaotic cluster **** running around in circles mechanic :ouch:

In BF tanks have global hitpoints, in RO, tanks act more like in sims and WW2 wargames, where you can damage individual sections, and penertrate armour

Looks a bit like ARMA in a WW2 setting, not bad.
Too bad these games always lack in the graphics or need incredible fast and expensive hardware. Definitely not "mainstream", but since it's PC only, I will not buy it. 8/

Actually battlefield maps are massive and don't have many cities in them. Plus BF3 will have areas of different damage on tanks I believe was confirmed last week....

Yes, but not RO tank map or ArmA big :)

Like walk for 15-20mins on foot big :dopey:

I played BF1942 and BF2 with all mods and what not, and even the WW2 ones, weren't that realistic, but fun.
The map designs and mechanics made it so, the usual cluster **** of people going around in circles all over the map
And the lack of suppression

RO2 is currently on Unreal 3 DX9 - so it won't look flashy, although I did hear of them doing an DX11 update.
It's an indy game pretty much - they started as a Mod team for Unreal
ArmA3 if want eye candy

So anyone playing this.

Still waiting on mya package
2 days late. Hope it's there tomorrow.

But this is a busy gaming season, so no problem.

Really cool game!!

It´s like Arma2/BF3 but WWII-style.
I do have a problem though. It seems i can´t get the game running higher then 66fps no matter what settings i choose.
I do have Vsync ticked off in the game and in the Nvidia control panel :S

Specs:
2x GTX 580
4.2GHz i7 950
Sabertooth
6gig RAM

The graphics are really not that impressive to barely run at 60fps.

yeah try the vsync, that sometimes help.

I still haven't my game, the postal dog eat my package.
Need to wait till tomorrow, since it could turn up by hazard.

Tomorrow need to recontact amazon.

Bloody hell

Probably next monday :(

Vsync locks the FPS. That´s the opposite of what i´m trying to do.
I´m trying to increase the FPS but no luck. It sits steady at 65-66-67 for some reason.

Why not buy it at Steam?

read wrong on the vsync, thought you gonna try to deactivate vsync.

Tried to not use the nvidia game profile, maybe profile and game has a conflict, otherwise need to wait for a driver update from nvidia or patch, hoping they fix it.

Well normally I would have had my game in time, but i bought it retail because 20€ over amazon against 35€ on steam. and i like having a case and dvd.

I see, ok yea i have all the graphic options and everything controlled by the game and have Vsync turned off in both places.

I´m starting to think it´s the massive post-process effects like motion blur, blur, DoF etc that´s the problem.
Haven´t tried to turn off those yet though.

Man this game is crazy :) Did a minute on MP but decided to run SP first to get accustomed to all the controls and just log some hours first.
SP is really fun, i´m a nazi right now ;)

Edit: Solved it! get over 120 fps now but the downside is with maximum graphics in heavy areas it will bog down to even 30fps from time to time.

Finally got my game today. Second package arrived. First one is still lost in the postal (they lost 5 packages in 1 week me alone)

Are we already connected over steam ?
I'm IboNibo on steam.

Can't wait to try it out after work

I have it off course, but not playing regularly right now.
STeam ID CoolColJ

Tried the BF3 beta, and that was pile of turd

Having said that, I'm not completely happy with RO2 as well, they changed a lot of things for the worse in compared to RO1
But it stills feels tense as ever! Can get really nerve racking online

played a few rounds MP yesterday after one campaign mission.

It's fun. You really do die fast in this game. Good that it doesn't show during a match.

Ranked up few nice kills.

Love the fact that there is n hud info.
That a barrel can break, that you can adjust the sights (that is awesome)

Still so much to discover though.

matches seem well balanced. And some maps are really great (played only two maps)

@CookColJ
I don't find you neither on steam nor origin.
BF3 is a different piece of cake. I like it, it's more fast action, But RO2 is awesome for all the right reasons.

Is RO1 even more hardcore?

strange, well I added you
When I do a search on Steam, for "coolcolj" my profile comes up

Yeah RO1, is a bit more hardcore in a sense, especially with the Darkest Hour mod, which is listed on steam

You have halftracks and other vehicles you can hop in to take you to the frontlines, so you don't spawn as close.
You can also bail out of tanks and go on foot, something you can't do in RO2, for some reason

The maps, especially mod maps were better designed, for a frontline progression. Once you capped a point, you couldn't recapture it, so gameplay felt better. Team work felt easier to implement, and was more necessary.

Just harder to kill someone all round. More recoil, more arm shake.
Combined with easier spotting of the enemy meant more frequent long range firefights that lasted longer, because it was harder to hit someone.

A few mods in the works, so we will see what eventuates

Either I got on a shady server or I rock.
My stats rise like hell... level 89 , 2.3 K/D, 6000 kills . Never.

But So fun.
I had an awesome match. Battles get so tense when you reach a killstreak, you don't wanna die...

Lol. Ok good to know.
yeah it still needs patching.

But it is really a good game. Was well worth purchasing it (didn't knew the first one).
Can't wait to level up more.

Will you get small scopes for the normal rifles?
