A friend of mine called me up to go spectate at the Redline Time Attack event this weekend at Autodrome St. Eustache, QC. We went up today to watch, and to my delight, there was a Tri-Point supercharged Elise in attendance (~210hp), lapping in Ulimited class. It was nice to spend a bit of time with the owner and his car, which he kindly let me sit in to see if I would fit (I did). It made my day.

Of course I was a little girl when I was around the Elise. The owner was super friendly and we spent a lot of time talking baout his racing endeavors with the Elise and other cars.

I had my camera with, naturally, so I snapped a few hundred pictures. Here's the ones worth showing. These were originally posted on a Lotus board, so the Elise shots are all clumped up and are at then end of the batch.

Some of you may recognize this as the AMS Evo, featured in several magazines.

NSX owner from Michigan, had to leave early. He needs more lessons, his lines were off all morning.

I know some of you have been in Elises, but for those of you who don't, being in one feels like wearing a nice suit. You can't see the front of the car, just the clamshells over the wheels on the side. It must be like a video game on the streets. Everything is literally right next to your foot or hand, nothing is there that isn't necessary. I am in love.

This is me in there.

Instruction M3

Instruction Civic (this this was stupid fast when driver by the instructer).

Bone stock.

500-horsie G35. The Elise was still quicker.

R32 Spun out right infront of us. Luckily no damage, got back on right away (glad to say it was the only off all day).

This Evo (from Cali with tags GR8 GRIP) was parked in a field, pretty much begging to be photographed. When I got over, the driver took off and all I managed to get was this one shot.

I absolutely love yellow heads.

The AMS Evo was by far the fastest of the day, smashing the track record. Everyone was in awe, as the record had stood untouched for 15 years. Nobody expects it to be beaten for another few years.

This Evo wants to be a Subaru so bad. It still looked great in the enemies colours.

This Legacy was giving it a boot around the track all day too.

The driver of this Mustang had years and years of experience. His lines were butter smooth, but he just couldn't do much with all of that weight.

Love this shot of the AMS

Here's the shots of the Elise. I would've gotten more pictures of other cars off track, but pretty much the whole time that I wasn't trackside I was with the Elise and the owner, discussing cars and events. He was exceptionally nice and friendly. Big ups.

It was quite funny, I was telling my friend how my dream garage would be an Audi A4 wagon for utility and track support, then an Elise for the fun days. Literally seconds later, we walk over to where the Lotus was parked and this sweet A4 rolled in with radials for the Elise in case it were to rain.

Outbrake the Elise? Hmm... don't think so.

Most of the shots are available at 3xxx x 2xxx @ 10.1mp, so if anyone's interested in wallpapers, they're available, as always. Mind you, some of them are cropped down considerably, like the long-distance panned photos, so those aren't available at such high resolutions, but I'll still try.

Enjoy!

I was supposed to be there today... Damnit. I missed all the fun.

It's because the only place us Michiganders can drive fast and be decent is on a freeway...any where else and we suck.

Nice pictures though 👍!

Wow. I feel so honored to be in your presence....such great photography!
