...Well thats absolutely pointless to continue building the MKIV models. I mean I realize that the New Beetle still sits on that chassis, but they seriously think they can push out models that have been matched even by the Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac Persuit/G5? Thats rather silly VW...

Ha. Yeah right, YSSMAN. This isn't the Comedy Corner. The Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac Pursuit are hardly a match for a Mark III Golf. The Mark IV blows them away, and when it was last sold in America last year at the massive rebates to clear house for the Mark V's, the IV's could be had for as low as $11,000 (my cousin bought one to replace his '99 New Beetle). I would still rather take a Mark IV over a Mark V aynways.
