Regulars vs Noobs or life vs no life

Unfortunately for newbs and Jordan, this is about as good as it gets. ESPECIALLY when you compare this place to many other forums.

i suppose those people complaining here have never been members of any 'net community. moderators are everywhere, and the job they do is more or less done in the same fashion. they are not out to destroy your life, they are to control the community and let it live in peace. they are needed and they have to be strict, thats just their job.

IMO, you'd have to be fresh to internet communities to give out about mods doing their job. and in this forum actually, they do it better and do more than i'm used to seeing. clearly this place is run by serious people and they are not your momma, they won't give you what you want just because you're pulling angry face.

search function has to be used. because it is a community forum, not a hotline.

of course there is less regulars than casual users, but strangely enough, in internet life, usually 1 regular is more important than 100 casual users.

I searched for " topics that break my balls" and it directed me to this one.
BTW this is in the wrong spot..it should be in suggestions.. :) :) :)

Imagine, if you will, going into a library.

In the library are hundreds - nay, thousands - of books. They're listed by category, alphabetically by title within the category and labelled according to the Dewey Decimal System, so finding a specific book isn't that hard with a little effort.

Now, imagine you are the librarian and you have six HUNDRED people every day coming in and shouting:

"WHERE CAN I FIND THE KAMA SUTRA?! I REALLY WANT THE KAMA SUTRA?! WHY CAN'T I FIND THE KAMA SUTRA!? THIS PLACE SUCKS!"

two inches from your face.

Wouldn't it get old awfully fast?

GTPlanet helps those who help themselves. The Search button is really rather good if you have your frontal lobes screwed in (as with Dewey) and has the benefit that you can find things which, if they aren't exactly what you want to know, you can contribute to and look intelligent by bringing a festering topic to life with a fresh point of view.

...>While there are 23 notes on the front door to search before you ask, and a library where the wall is painted with "SEARCH" and a little note on the librarian's head saying....please search:nervous:.....

When I first joined this forum, I was pretty afraid of posting an unecesary question, and made my first own thread like one month after I joined GTP:idea:

But deleting U isn't much of a problem, either.

Nor can you be arsed to use capitalization properly. Proof positive you haven't been around the internet for 6 months.

Oh no, I'm scared. Except the mods here have to wear the badges.

All your SHOUTING is more than enuff [sic] for me.

Judging by all your other 5-word posts on GTP, this fine work must have involved quite a bit of creativity and toil. Good thing we have a kid like you to keep us entertained when the newbie well runs dry.

I'd regard myself as a so called "search nazi" (which has nothing to do with me being German! :scared: )

Seriously, this is too good!

Don't worry, this thread will be extinguished soon enough.

In any case, I try to help when I feel like it, in the GT2 forum. But for the most part, there's about 4-5 regulars there that can usually answer the easy questions thrown at them. ("Where's the GT90!")

Actually, we can throw some strange and obscure GT1 and GT2 questions at the mods, just to see if they can use the search function. :D

if i remeber correctly, adestroy88 was already banned for being a disgrace to a human race, i meant breaking forum rules. obviously he joined again. my advice to everyone would be to put him on ignore.

edit: this ignore even works :)

This message is hidden because ADestroy88 is on your ignore list.

I try not to set any user to "ignore". There was one execption, but this was about 2+ years ago (kept posting the same junk over and over again). Besides, you never know when one of these dolts is going to humor us with their stupidity and immature behavior.

Do you guys know if adestroy88 blew up in the baseball thread? I was having a discussion(if you can call it that) with him in this baseball thread called "omfg, yawn", or something like that. Now I can't find it. :guilty: Oh, well. I guess it doesn't matter now, if he's banned.

No, you just don't get it. And are you still here? I see "Banned" in the title, but no "Banned" in the activity.

i've seen him in few different threads, most of the time spamming and flaming. he already had few different nicks, hopefuly they banned him now for good [surely they could ban an ip mask, no?]

Thanks, DS. It looks like he's banned for good.
👍
Actually, this gives me the thought; "I wonder how i act and look like in real life?"

LOL!

Oh, that's quite well and good, but I think this thread has strayed to far from any sensible topic. Three pages! That's a record!

Now, in my opinion, mods on forums have to be uber-strict. Otherwise, the place dengenerates into a board run by idiots. Have you ever seen forums where randomness is the topic of the day, everyday? No reason to go to them unless you're looking for cheap laughs.

Well, a nice tribute to Roland Ratzenberger, (G).

I think I've mentioned the search function every time, in some form or another, so it's been an educational thread for a couple of reasons.

This thread is also the only time I've been called "pupic".
