ive stumbled across this issues myself this week, purple wheels after swapping rims.
Hi all,I am having a baffling problem when I change the wheels and tires on certain cars. Most of the time things work out fine but on some cars when I change the wheels and tires they show up purple in game, but only at a distance. Up close (within 20 meters) its all good but at more than 20 meters (+/-) they turn purple. Can anybody tell me why and how to fix that problem?

Hey i figured this out, the culprits are the Extra lod kn5's
like in the cars folder some cars have extra lod kn5s like lod_a.kn5 and lod_b.kn5, they help load the car at a distance and for it to look better, since me and you just updated the main kn5 with kseditor after wheel swapping, the rest of the lod kn5's were saved as the other wheels, so just resave all of them through ksEditor and it was fixed for me.
Thanks again. I tried what you suggested and it worked! No more purple wheels. With all the countless tutorials and videos on wheel swapping, I've come across no body who addressed this issue.
