I was reading through the ps blog today, and i came across a bit of good news(for me atleast.

But i don't know the source of that post... It could be PD or sony excecs, but i thought ide post it up any way.

I can't say I'm going to get my hopes up about this game anymore until have it in my very own hands.

Just to clarify, Penrose actually posted 4 replies in total, all of which stated that GT5 information would be coming "soon".

There is the evidence, it looks like there might be a media blowout soon, possibly even before E3. Taking into account what Famine said on the latest news and discussion thread, my best guess is a June/July release date to coincide with the 3D firmware. To most people that would be "soon" and "earlier than expected" as many journalists or Sony reps have claimed.

My opinions are total speculation though just to be clear. The comments from Penrose are the only real pieces of evidence we have right now.
 
They said soon at TGS I believe and we still don't know jack squat. Take anything sony says with the tiniest grain of salt.
The fact that she says development is progressing, on a game that is finished IMO, says enough.
 
the release is coming faster and more soon then we think.

I think it is a trick, they say it will be a late 2010 release so everone is disapointed AGAIN.
And then they say in april (however, that is not really a good time to release a game) Yeah we finnished the game faster then we thougt you know..

And we will release it in the end of june...

Perhaps put off because of the delayed Japan release date.
 
I have a feeling it will be between April and December. I have no idea what could give me that idea. /sarcasm.

Does anybody remember when KY himself said that "GT5 will be released soon after GTPSP" or was it "shorty after GTPSP". Either ways, it makes no difference. I hope they really mean "soon" this time.

They (SCEA) initially said 'soon' just after TGS but changed it a day later to "in due course" or something like that.

Yes it does! It´s an GT forum... I don´t check the news thread all 5 minutes...

And autmn is extremely late... once again delayed and delayed... I can´t believe how much PD sucks with their release dates...

he said that because that's when the game was supposed to be finished and that's when the game was FINISHED. It's not up to him when the game comes out.
 
Anyone wanna bet that GT5 is coming in May??? Just remember even that KY said that it's coming soon after GTPSP, he said it will be a surprise, surprise kills the E3 announcement speculation because if everyone is expecting E3 for a release date then it won't be a surprise anymore if you are expecting it. And if they are releasing the date, it will have nothing to do with any ''SHOWS" like GDC, E3 and TGS etc..... So if they are releasing in depth info before April, Then it means PD and Sony will start distributing the through April for a late April to mid May release.

I would think it could not be release in that time period because they haven't really started PR. If its do be that soon, most gaming websites would be hands on previewing the game pretty much complete. But i haven't read any hands on previews that wasn't from really limited demos.

I would say a June to August release. Keep in mind that Atari and Codemasters are dropping their racing titles later this year.
 
The problem is, those are only speculations :P....

We don't know anything about a release and that.... well... kind off sucks :(

Do you really think that the precise timing of the release will have any bearing whatsoever on the relative success of this game?!

At the end of the day, we are getting towards the end of the original launch window, so they know we will be eager for an update.

Again, I can't see that having any bearing the relative success of GT5. They can release this game whenever they want (once it is complete anyway) and it will fly off the shelves and move significant numbers of hardware too.
 
"Soon" is subjective, it can be soon after now, or soon after christmas. Anyway, I'm waiting for news within the next weeks, otherwise they wouldn't even give us a "soon", no matter how elusive that can be. :sly:
 
I think GT5 is actually one of a few gaming titles they could release at any given time because of its lifespan and consistent sales during that lifespan.
It is not purely dependant on creating hype before a holiday season, sure the most units will probably be sold in the first months, but even Prologue is still doing quite well.
