Remote Races Question

Could someone explain this? I thought the idea of remote races was to run your OWN Bspec races from your laptop, iPhone, etc. What does that have anything to do with adding "friends" or having to "share" Bspec drivers?? I'm probably in the minority here, but I've never raced a single race against someone online (I've been perfectly content with Aspec, Bspec, and Seasonal Events)......so, why does my ability to use this new remote racing feature from my iPhone have anything to do with sharing friends/Bspec drivers?

You need to share your drivers and have some friends who also share there drivers. Then you can race them with yours. You will also have to have your ps3 on at home in server standby mode on the remote race screen.

Hope you understand. Add me cranky123 and ill race with your guy. Thers also a thread full of remote race friends in the B spec forum.

Why don't I normally have to race against "friends" in normal (non-remote) Bspec? I guess my point is......why can't I just race "remotely" against the AI? Isn't that how Bspec has always worked previously?

I don't think he was questioning how to do it, he was questioning why it has to be done that way. He wants to race his own game using remote play

I know what you mean now. I dont know why you cant just do b spec events on your laptop or mobile device but only remote race with your friends. You also get a lot more xp/cr for these races which makes the events a lot easier.

^Exactly. So.....what am I missing? Why didn't PD make the remote races work like regular Bspec (racing against the AI)? I thought the idea was to be able to run (or grind) those monotonous Bspec races away from your PS3. Instead, it's really just a new version of Bspec where you're racing real people now (instead of the AI)?

I originaly thought that is what it would be but this way could be better, if it was my own game i would still have to be logged in and telling bob which race to enter then how to drive and do it over and over again. This way though my friends can use my drivers while i am away so even though i am at work they will keep using my drivers for me, i get XP for no effort

So.....wouldn't it be advantageous to put the highest horsepower cars in? Otherwise.....what "friend" would want to use the most underpowered car in the group? And, if this is the case, then aren't we going to run into the problem of these remote races being oversaturated with 1000hp monsters? Wouldn't this take the fun out of it?

Second.....again, if other people are using my drivers/cars, what if they lose? Doesnt it bother people to have some stranger affecting your "own" Bob's winning percentage?

Its become a bit of a sensation at my workplace. I bet a guy my Bob could beat his (not a lot just a pound) and we set up the race on his iPhone. A few more people caught on to the Idea and now there is a breaktime winner takes all of about 7 quid!!! :) People are spending hours on B spec to try to gain a skill advantage. I think the Idea works well. Because the drivers get random cars its a bit of pot luck so a better driver doesnt always win if theres only a small skill gap. Its like the new horse racing. If anyone wants a Friend with a few drivers add me GTP_Thedeester1.

If you want to run your own races I found a different thread which involves setting up another PSN account and hosting your own races on that.

It would be even better if you could see the race remotely. For now though were quite happy. Like big kids really!

The cars are random so the races can be good, who really cares about bobs wining percentage? i doubt bob cares about it tbh
