The TCR cars seem to be a highlight (maybe the only one ;)) - hopefully they add some more to make a varied grid.
I would probably pay in that case, for a kind of touring car sim on console (as we won't ever get RF2 or Race Room).

As expected then, give it a bit of a wider berth at release and wait for more content or a much lower price.

That’s what I been thinking! ;) Good stuff!
They’d do better to have more TCR cars to grab console players.

I’d like to pull the trigger because of the TCR cars, but look so barren. There’s got to be more coming. I mean, if it included the Honda Civic TCR I would seriously be hovering over the purchase icon.

Maybe the two TCR cars are helping. I do like that it have Fuji, Jeddah and Road atl.

I think it has potential, but that would require ongoing support and I'm not sure the playerbase will be there to keep it going.

Looks fine on the PS5 (more so on the Pro), pad handling seems ok or good depending on who you ask, from what I've seen the online racing is pretty good. Also has a decent damage model and crashes. The AI & single player seems to be an afterthought mess as expected. All in all it's what we thought it was.

@KAlex122 PS5 (and Xbox) is upscaled to 4K which a lot of people don't like. Some tracks are also looking worse than others. Don't think it's anymore "PS4" than GT7 from what I've seen but can't tell for sure as I haven't bought it.

EDIT - The mirrors definitely look bad. Really bad.
It isn't tagged as enhanced on PS5 Pro despite a Traxion article saying it would be native 4K on that.

A few problems for Xbox users. Wheels not working, devs waiting for a patch to be approved. Welcome to 2025 gaming :indiff:

Does seem to be a DLC store for liveries, haven't seen if it has a seperate editor.
I like the penalty system. Like iRacing, you accrue incident points throughout the race for any contact (even if you're the one getting hit) or going offtrack. Time penalty at first threshold, DSQ if you reach the maximum.

Hope they fix all the issues as there is a possible ACC console replacement lurking underneath.

Some AI racing on PS5 (shows the launch issues). Race starts around the 23 minute mark.

I do like that founders track with the pits inside a mountain, like if a Bond villain was hosting a track day.

The reviews said the AI improved with longer races and on the later championships. I'll try to find a video of those, if anyone kept playing and didn't delete the whole thing.

Here we go:

I'm feeling a kind of morbid curiosity that is making me consider buying this trainwreck.

You guys think Rennsport or Project Motor Racing will be reviewed by big magazines? I mean Eurogamer was always close to racing. Pushsquare not so much.

Well... Xbox here...
Thrustmaster TS-XW wheel also doesn't work...
I received a 300MB patch... But I guess it's still not the one that make the wheels working...
Shame...
Let's hope they release it soon.
Besides this... The game looks good... The driving... Don't know.. Don't want to play with a controller.

Here is my first ever run on Nurburgring 24h in Rennsport, from a Deluxe Edition:

As you can see, my run was very careful - i wanted valid lap.
On Dualsense, without assists, min. HUD, manual and cocpit camera that you can fit as you want - you saw on begging that GT3 Cup cocpit wasn't as I wish.

Wow, 180 degrees of steering angle on the onscreen wheel and the car is barely turning.

My problem after a few rounds the car won't go any further...no idea what problem this is...before the session the tank is completely full

PMR's appearance on GamingBolt's '15 things you should know before you buy...' series surprised me, it watched like a direct ad though. Maybe 'content' like that is the new advertising? Expect we'll see it elsewhere too, Rennsport maybe not since they seem out of marketing ideas or funds though, or think it isn't important.

After watching these it's painful to hear semi-trusted content creators tell us the handling/physics and ffb are surprisingly good, but still have lost interest for the foreseeable future due to everything else.

Can ACC not release some kind of AC mods DLC for us on console, like give us some Hypercars DLC with a track or two, a TCR/BTCC DLC again with a track or two, and any other classes that get a lot of play over on AC PC modding communities. Fix the sound for external camera views and make the better controller setups, along with some better car setups as the defaults to encourage way more bored Forza/GT7 type people to buy it. If it's a success maybe use the profits to do a UE5 GFX update? Would keep us ticking over until Evo.

No, ACC is officially deceased. Getting some new liveries and that’s it.

Looks like I'm not buying it after all

I'm ready to buy it just because it's a new racing game. I bought NASCAR 25 and haven't played it yet

As suspected, livery store and microtransactions. Gross.

I had a feeling we hadn't seen the last of something scummy from these folks.

Hilarious review.

I'm so torn with this, because the content is sparse, the single player is non existent really but everything I watch from Traxion and Overtake etc, make the driving dynamics look a lot of fun and the online looks excellent, the netcode for close racing and whatnot looks really good and the fact it has TCR and some interesting circuits intrigues me.

But then the mictotransaction practices, terrible AI, limited single player appeal, just stop me pressing buy.

If Project Motor Racing wasn't coming out in 2 weeks I'd probably have bought it.

I can't say I'm terribly surprised. The game was designed with an online-only, e-sports first mentality from the beginning, retrofitting it to make offline play viable well after the fact isn't a particularly easy thing and I doubt it'll ever really be comparable to any other sim in that respect.

iRacing managed it, granted it took them a long time but they have some of the best AI in sim racing right now and some of the best online racing.

True, but iRacing also did the AI part long after building a large, dedicated playerbase who are willing to shell out large amounts of money to fund all that development. If the AI part didn't pan out, they still had the online community to fall back on and could continue on. Rennsport doesn't have that safety net, they're starting from zero and now it feels like they've just decided to try and be everything for everyone by tossing in a console release and rudimentary singleplayer mode at the tail end. And changing your mind that late rarely goes well.

Based purely on my own feeling I'm gonna say something I would normally never say: Don't bother, save your money.

This has felt to me like they've been chasing their tail from the very start and they've been trying to recoup finances. I feel like they should have dumped this game early and started over with a clear vision. Lol at the prices for liveries , holy smokes.

Thanks. I'm Familiar with your post history for years so I know you don't say that lightly.

I will refrain and give my 100 dollars to Ian and his team. Even if it takes a year or two to get the kinks ironed out, I'm all in on PMR

I'm honestly still tempted if they add some more TCR cars or when the DTM content comes. Sadly by that point the userbase will likely have disappeared and the lobbies will be empty.

I dont see any userbase after PMR and next to ACC and GT7.
In my review it got 2/5 stars.

ACC is now at end-of-life though (just livery updates), and who knows if PMR's online will actually be good. It's barely been shown. Also severely lacking in the touring department.
