So we were FINALLY given the ability to go forward & backward through our replays.. something soo many of us have wanted and feel should have been included from the beginning! (of GT that is) I'm a little confused though, does it simply move by a full lap, every time ya hit the FF or RW buttons? If that's the case, I REALLY hope they improve this long awaited feature.. :boggled: I mean, c'mon DP, everybody's used to Dirt type forward/reverse trigger control these days! - Or maybe I'm a tard/missing something majorly obvious?? As always, thanks in advance! 👍

It doesnt skip to each lap, only about 30 - 45 seconds in either direction from my experience.

Each segment of a replay is a sector of a lap. Skipping forward will take you to the start of the next sector. You can check this for yourself by looking at the live timing screen whilst going forward and backwards through the replay.

Really need a way to advance frame by frame, to get that perfect picture. I've barely done anything with replays besides watch them so far. The controls are just way too primitive. Really bugged me when I tried takin pics the first time. Didnt realize PD finally sort of added forward and reverse.

+1000! I hate to sound like one of the nitpickers who thinks every little detail of the game needs tweaked, but it's like the addition of replay was little more than an afterthought, simply so they could add it to the list of new features. (rather than for actual use) There're plenty of games out there with killer replay controls these days & the DS3 has analog functionality on ALL buttons, (but the L3/R3 of course). Heck, even L1 & R1 are analog, though you need a light touch to make them function as such. FF/RW is pretty much just annoying in it's current state.

I agree that it could have been implemented better, but it is certainly head and shoulders above what it was. ;) Not having to restart the track and watch everything up to the point that you are looking for is a much-needed improvement.

Maybe in a future patch they will add the ability to actually reverse or fast forward the motion as opposed to just skipping to sectors. 👍

Hopefully so, though in it's current state I've used it a total of maybe 3x. I feel it a waste of time & would rather play, due to how ghetto it's current implementation is. Glad somebody's ready to cuddle with Kaz about it though.. haha, jk. :p

;)

I don't use it that often either, but it certainly came in handy when I wanted to take a look at something that happened in the last lap of a race and I didn't have to actually sit through all of the the preceding laps in real time to get there. 👍

And I could keep backing up a sector to see it again. Just a "cup half full" personal opinion. :)

Yeah, I was mostly being silly.. mostly. (about cuddling that is, lol) baaa, why'd they have to take away our dancing bannananana smiley years ago? :grumpy:

I knew you were kidding around, that's why I started that post with a wink. :p

I don't have the original, but maybe Brian will help...
