I failed that mission the first time, namely because I didn't realise how far the house was away so I opened the parachute too late to land on the roof and by the time I got up there the Triads had been slaughtered and it wasn't long before the same happened to me. I did the one where you take Sweet home and the one after that, but I haven't tried the one after that yet. My game progress is 54.xx% with 4x.xx hours play time.

Currently sitting at 42% done with about 28 hours down... Just finished off Wang Cars and am currently looking for I/E vehicles (Only got 3 so far (Had a Sanchez from the country but binned it in some water next to the dock when avoiding a taxi! DAMMIT!))

Done Zero's first 3 missions and have him as an asset. Have all Silver in Driving test so far. I'm looking to tidy up SF before heading off to the ? in the desert... so aim to get most of I/E and Driving School and Zero done... but if I get bored of car hunting I might go off and carry on with the missions!!

C.

I haven't started with I/E or Zero yet, when I finish the main story missions I'll get onto that.

Have you done Wang Cars?

I found that to be some of the best missions so far to be honest... (Cept for the big long ones like Reuniting the Families and Pier 69 and Da Nang Thang)...

C.

I did Wang Cars, I figured that was necessary, but it was also the closest missions to where I was. I really like the missions you do on that boat, really fun :D. I love those long shooting ones, they just seem to suit how I play.

Lone shooting missions are great fun to do... Especially ones which involve a bit of stealth...

That one where you swam to the tanker to place the bug was cool... I liked sneaking up on everyone... altho I did get it wrong twice... glad I had a silenced Pistola on me!!

C.

I got that one first go, BUT it took me ages to do because I got spotted by one of the boats and stayed under water for a bit too long and almost drowned (I lost alot of health) so I had to swim back to shore and go to the nearby Pizza Stack to get healthed up, this time I went around the back way and didn't get caught, but it lost me about 10 minutes .

I found the underwater bit really tense but the best way to do it was swim underwater... popup when low on breath but stay still... regain breath... dive swim... popup stay still... as long as you're not moving I don't think they spot you...

If I'd had the time or the effort though I would've built my lung capacity up further and it would've been really easy... I reckon you could swim there in one go with full lung capacity?!

C.

My lung capacity was pretty damn low and I swam out there, popped up for breath bobbing there, and a flashlite hit me and about 2 seconds later they spotted my, shot me I dove underwater, didn't have much breath so I was swimming away from them and drowning and I popped out of the water with like 4% health left, crazy :scared:

Ah I forgot about the flashlights... Just avoid them circles and you should be OK... I actually swam underneath the boat instead of going round the ends... so I completely avoided the flashlights.

C.

It was a flashlight of one of the partollling boats, not of the big boat, but none the less I passed the mission first go and am a fair way past there now.

no its a sabre for the badlands A and ZR-350 for badlands.

Hate to burst your bubble but I distinctly remember using a rancher when i passsed badlands A the first time (not re-doing it from the race place in Los Santos)-- I ran the car on my right into the barn when I started and the other 2 into the river with it-- I did fail it a couple of times and remember I could choose any vehicle I wanted each time.

I have a save near this mission--I can prove it if I have to.

I can't remember what car I used, but it definitely wasn't a Rancher. I think it was the Buffalo I took from Catalina's.

edit: I misunderstood you. I thought you were saying you couldn't choose what car. I agree that you could when it was being done as a storyline mission.

KM.

Yep thats what I meant--first time through you could pick any vehicle for A-- I chose a rancher (4wd and tough).

The Sabre is a pretty crap car for off road racing. It'll take a fair bit of practice to get some good times with it.

KM.

I used the Zr350 with the hydros lifted to beat the offroad racing.... lotsa fun !

**EDIT** Do the offroad tires really work like offroad, or just look like they do ?

You can't choose what car to use for the races once you've unlocked the street racing club. So for Badlands A you're stuck with a stock Sabre and a stock ZR350 for Badlands B.

yeah thats what i meant KM.

Anyway I've got all tags, oysters, photos and horseshoes. Im about 74% with 56hours.

well ive now done

all of Zero's missions, the heist missions, trucker missions and I/E since that last post. now 79% at 59:30 Hours game play.

Don't know how much % I have done, but this is what's happening right now:

Finished all of Los Santos Missions.
Finished all of San Fierro Missions except for Zero's last 2 Missions.
Finished all of Las Venturas Missions.

Return to Los Santos:
Finished all of the Mansion Missions except the last one.
Finished all of the Grove Street Missions.

Currently taking over all turf in Los Santos. Doing well. Gang Stats:

Ballas - 21 Territories
Grove Street - 19 Territories
Vagos - 17 Territories

I've only focused on taking out the Ballas. I haven't been attacked at all by the Vagos...If they don't attack me, I think I'll leave them alone.

I am 86% done now. I still have to collect everything but the horseshoes and some photos, finish last 2 I/E lists, finish trucking, LS courier, ?burglar?, and that's all I can remember right now.

I finally finished Firefighter. It was so exciting. I wasn't planning on doing it, but I had just got done killing a few cops and blew up a car so a Firetruck came. So I hopped it with only a sliver of life left. I got all the way up to level 10 when I started losing my fat because I hadn't eaten. Then I ran over a cop so I got a star, so I was fighting of the cops with the hose as well as putting out the peds. Then I got down to the very last person of level 12. He was standing near a ledge when I sprayed him so he fell off and nearly into the water. I couldn't reach him with my hose , and I only had 30 seconds left so I creeped over the edge just barely until it fell off the edge, and I sprayed him as I was falling and put him out just before I crushed him and rolled into the ocean. I was so excited I nearly had a stroke. By far one of the awsomest things I've ever done in GTA.

I had a funny incident the other day. It was in heavy rain, and I went down a steep hill which ended in a building across the road. There was a bike. I hit the bike in mid-air, he fell off and the bike slid towards the wall. He slid all the way into the wall, got up, the bike knocked him over and I parked on top of him. He survived. Then a cop beat him to death.

That's hilarious

I'm at 87% and can't seem to get past the shooting challenge at Ammu-nation (Shootgun - Round 3).

My hate for the Freeway A.I. has reached the point where I get road rage when I drive from Los Santos to Las Venturas. It's pure madness. I have been rear ended by Fork lifts, Packers and Linerunners, while driving at full speed in sportcars. Most of the time my trips end up with me getting out of the car and laying waste to everything in sight.

Must say that I enjoy the car chases in the country side alot, get 4-5 stars and off you go, some of the most fun I have ever had is trying to outrun the cops in the back country. Roadblocks are quite dangerous and I love that they got rid of the spikestrips, makes the chases last longer.

Next on the to do list: Assault Area 53 on BMX :)

Vigilanted R3 Mission Complete with the Rhino.

This was completed a few days back when I had the game. I forgot I had passed it. It's not hard to get to level 12 in a Rhino.;)

God.. Someone help with that damn Zero mission with flying planes and minigun... I'm about to throw my controller at the screen...

I finished the Quarry and 7 of the Trucker missions today. Anyone got tips for the next (last?) one? I've tried it twice but my truck was on fire about halfway to my destination both time. I think I'll finish the flying time trials this evening.

I got killed today and ended up outside hospital. While CJ was just standing there doing nothing, a cop walked up to another cop on his motorbike, knocked him off and stole his bike! The cop who has just been jacked was then attacked by a guy in a construction worker outfit. Instead of fighting back, the cop ran off and the other guy pulled out a gun and killed him. Bizarre.

I really like the chases in this game non-stop. You included or not. It's fun to see other people's chases, too. The Cops' AI is really cool in San Andreas, I must say, although the thing KM was talking about is the first bad thing. I'm indifferent about removing the Spike Strips. It was cool to have them in, but I did get annoyed with them. I do like that the chases are longer.

I love how if a Cop sees you on 1 star, he will chase you down and beat you up, but if you're on 1 star and you're holding a Gun, he will shoot at you. A cool new feature.

Also, I have never had much of a problem on the Freeway. Blake can vouch for that. I'm careful, but I still speed. I also slow a little and go at Freeway Traffic Speed. That way I can easily compensate for any lane-changes, and not get rear-ended because I don't have to slow down while I'm doing Freeway Speed. If I am speeding, I still don't seem to have any trouble.
