The republicans won the mac election we have at school on Friday. George Bush and Tim Micheals, senator candidate for Wisconsin, won. I live in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, we have the fifth highest population of republicans in America living in our county. Only four other counties have more Republican. This caused or figures to be a little distorted. George Bush got 82% of the votes. Kerry got 16% and Ralph Nader got 2% of the votes. Tim Michaels, republican running for US senate from our state beat our current senator, Russ Feingold, democrat, by a lot. Michaels got 93% of the votes and Feingold 7%. We have 1,600+ kids at our high school.

I think you mean "Mock" instead of "Mach"
Because Mach is a Mustang and a mesure of speed.

Either way, Kids don't know what they're talking about.

The county I live in is I think the most republican county in the country (it might be an adjecant county, though). Our Mock election resulkts havent been revealed, yet. I voted badnarik.

I see you STILL can't get MOCK right!:p

Channel One has done mock elections for the past two presidential elections with high school students. Channel One has predicted correctly for both elections and the results are in for 2004...

President Bush beat John Kerry by a huge margin. Bush won with 393 electoral votes to Kerry's 145. Over 1.4 million students voted.

So, when people say that teenagers no nothing about politics and call them stupid, it burns me up to no end, it is they nay-sayers who are stupid. Kerry is in big trouble if he is counting on the newly registered teen voters out there.

The thing is, The kids vote because they're forced to for class.
And consitering its simple to write a name down on a sheet of paper compaired to going to a real voting booth, I think thats what really matters.

It's not the kids vote that counts. Its the votes of the people that actually decide to go.
If online voting ever really happened, the increase in votes would be substantial.
The winner is note decided from forced votes.
The presedent that apeals to the lazy people lose.

But kids will vote 90% of the time the way there parents do, so its a good indication.

Kerry is in big trouble if he is counting on the newly registered teen voters out there.
He's also in trouble if he's counting on black voters, female voters, and Christian voters.

Exactly.

The Nickelodeon election showed Kerry as the winner. The Scholastic poll showed Bush. A simple and obvious conjecture can be drawn. Kids who watch more TV vote Kerry. Kids who read more vote Bush.

Sorry about my spelling error. It was late at night so I wasn't paying attention. Actually we didn't have to vote if we didn't want to and we used ballots that looked like the real ballot, where you fill in the arrow. We also had more than just Kerry and Bush on the ballot. There were like 6 people, including the communist party, green party, and stuff. Nader was listed as an independent. We have a senior at our school who ran in this election for the 38th State Assembly and he won 98% of votes in our county and 100% of the votes in Jefferson County and Dodge County. He is only 18.

In my Great Sunflower State of Kansas, we are so far to the right the liberals should just save their energy and not even try. We are a state full of right wing bible bashers who dictate school policy based on the bible. A few years ago, the Kansas state school board mandated that Science teachers didn't have to teach evolution in schools. We were the laughing stock of the nation. Thankfully, they changed it. Now, Some extreme Right-wing psychotics are trying to make history teachers not teach foreign countries' histories, but instead focus on kansas history. Just brilliant. Where would myself and all the other kansans in our great 82,000 square mile chunk of the USA be without foreign countries? To buy boeing planes made in wichita, to buy Cessnas, to buy wheat, we wouldn't have cheap labor...

In fact, some people in my state are so right-wing that one pastor in topeka has his church's website as www.godhatesfags.com .

Kids who watch more TV vote Kerry. Kids who read more vote Bush
I think I saw in sage's signature, "Often times those who know what they're talking about don't know how to talk."

If you watched the debates, then you know that is true. /\ that there also is saying that people who voted for bush are more educated. :p

I live in the psycho conservative state, yet my school newspaper is so far to the left it's almost communist.

All school newspapers are, I was the Opinion Editor for mine for 2 years and it was rediculous. I tried my best to keep the Opinion section with no politics at all, or politics with both sides.

Exactly.

Last time the Nickelodeon election had 58% Bush, 42% Gore. So much for simple conjectures.

That was "last time", like you said. Gore was associated with Clinton. Clinton was an embarassment. Kids' parents probably weren't thrilled about their kids hearing about oral sex and semen stains and Clinton's penis every day, and I'd bet this was reflected in the kids' votes. Also, neither candidate was incumbent. There's a lot of differences.

I don't know if the TV statement is true, but you could try to look at other poles from the 2000 election and see if people who watched TV were voting Gore.

Our school is performing a mock election tomorrow at school. I really don't know who I'll be voting for yet.

Vote Bush, and if you vote for senator, vote Tim Michaels. You may also vote for representative for the house of representatives and state congressmen. We didn't vote for those other positions in our high school, but my sister did in the middle school.

I'm pretty sure it's just the presidentian candidates. Right now im leaning slightly toward Bush, mainly because he seems like the stronger person, but i'm still not sure.
