Hello gt planet

I'm using a Cleo v6 premium and have two different settups but they are tuned the same. I'm trying to figure out Wich one is better. And I'm not nearly consistent enough to really decide. both cars are run between 410-470 PP.

Car 1. I run with racing exsaust, stage 3 weight reduction, and stage 3 engine build nothing else. As you may already know it's power limited severly.

Car 2. I run with racing exsaust, stage 3 weight reduction, and ecu nothing else. This car has very little power limiting

Here is the tune I use. I flip the trans final gear all the way right, top speed to left, 6th and 5th gears all the way right, 1st all the way left balance 2nd and 3rd even. Then lower final gear to desired top speed.

-24/-11 1.5/2.0 camber -.09/+.10 toe
11.1/12.1
7/7
6/6
4/4
10/32/16 LSD
3/5 brake

I was hoping somebody wouldn't mind testing these to settups to help me determine Wich one will give me better results. I really like the trans so I'm not really into changing that part. And I really like the weight reduction but if that is not optimal I'm willing to change that and or anything else for that matter. The tracks I'm mostly runing are deep forest rev, high speed ring fw/rev, Mazda, and tskuba.

I realize this may be alot to ask as this is my first post, and I haven't contributed to this community to date. I'm hoping some one has the free time and won't mind helping.

Thanks in advance to anyone that helps.

Welcome to GTPlanet. I tidied the above up a little for you, clear posting with good punctuation and spelling goes a long way.

If you put both cars on share and send me a friend request on PSN (my ID is over there on the left-hand side of the screen), I'll run them for you later today and offer an opinion 👍

Thanks for cleaning it up. Very hard to see what's been typed using an iPhone. I'll be more careful in the future.

Excuse my ignorance, I don't see your screen name for psn. Is it Cykosis1973 ?

One more thing, can you start posts and or reply to them from the iPhone app. I'm failing to see how to do this. and can I be logged in to the app and the website at the same time.

Cars are in my shared folder. Just waiting for psn conformation. And thank you very much appreciate the help. I'm looking forward to your replies/recommend adjustments.

Not a problem, Sir. I don't know much about accessing this website via smart phones. I tried it once, on my wife's phone, but my fat thumbs make life difficult. I'll stick with the laptop for now ;)

Speaking of my wife, things haven't gone exactly to plan tonight. Whilst I was anticipating picking her up later in the evening, it was expected that it would be from the train station that's 5 mins away and not 30-40 mins up the road. Unfortunately there'd been some sort of human-train "interaction" further down the line from her and I assume for safety reasons, they turned the power off for half a dozen stations either side of the incident. So best of luck to whoever it was, but it does mean I've only tested one of the two cars, #2, the bright yellow one.

I'll hold off giving a full run-down until the weekend, if you don't mind. I'd like to run #1 and maybe spend a bit more time with #2. It's worth noting that this car is a great big bag of squirrels on Comfort Soft tyres that frustrated me and made me smile in equal measures. There's some work to be done for sure, the least being to stretch the gearbox out a little. At the Reverse version of the High Speed Ring, I topped the gear box out. I'm not prepared to suggest or recommend any other changes at the moment, as I've not had an opportunity to alter anything yet.

These are the times I've posted so far. Not sure if they match up to your pace, whilst I'm an, at best, average driver, I could certainly lower all of them by putting in some more laps.

Car #2

Deep Forest Reverse - 6 laps run
1:31.847

High Speed Ring Forward - 6 laps run
1:20.012

High Speed Ring Reverse - 3 laps run
1:20.696

Tsukuba - 4 laps run
1:07.117

Laguna Seca - 6 laps run
1:43.735

Sherlock Holmes once implied that the best conclusions run on data. I'll be on at about 9 pm Central time so if you want to send me those cars, I'll get some more data. I'll look for four things:

1. Nurburgring 24h time(two laps)
2. Top Speed (Run on Indianpolis and Daytona since I don't have the speed pack)
3. Top Gear Lap time
4. Race in real time conditions.

Thank you Cykosis. I apologize as I failed to mention that I have tune sheet A, B, and C with all settings the same, but a different final drive ratio to reach speeds according to the track. I know car 1 is titled. May have forgotten to title car 2. Will fix this tonight once I get out of work.

Thanks once again for the time you spent and look forward to the weekend to get the final verdict. I will just send you both cars over next two days. No need to return, you may keep them.

Gotcha, hadn't realised there were different sheets for different tracks. I'll run both cars on Saturday, using the appropriate sheets, and let you know how I get on.

I'm not a natural time trialer, I prefer to race against others, but this is one of the few cars that I didn't end up getting into a battle with my own ghost. It requires a high level of concentration to drive the car, as on certain tracks it feels like it's on castors, at others it feels more stable. My last two times reflect this too, I'd picked my wife up by that point and was trying to listen to what she was saying and drive at the same time. My pace on both tracks was slow, in my opinion.

The finest thing about this car, and this may seem a bit weird, is that with tyre wear on and having the rear sliding quite a bit, the actual wear to the tyres was minimal. After 6 laps of Deep Forest, the High Speed Ring and Laguna Seca, I could barely see any change in the condition of the tyres. This maybe because I was driving conservatively, it could be the compound of the tyres, it could be the setup, but it's worth noting that I did have the rear tyres lit up on quite a few occasions during each session. I've been running a couple of FWD cars at the Nordschleife on CS tyres and they've both shown much higher tyre wear. I appreciate they're entirely different drivetrains, but even still...

Toss me a FR to DigitalBaka and I'll run it this afternoon for you before I jump into my WRS lapping. :dopey:

To reply to a thread using the app, there is a box with an arrow in it to the upper right, tap it and the options "reply, subscribe, and refresh" will pop up. To see someone's psn I.d., tap on their avatar and it will bring up their profile. Take time to get used to the app and it's very user friendly. Welcome.

@Cykosis1973 I sent car #1 last night, and will send car #2 as soon as the 24hr limit has expired.

I used car #2 to compare the times you achieved. I was just shy of 2sec faster at HSR, but that was more than likely due to the trans hitting the limiter on your runs. All other tracks I was give or take .3 - .7 sec off.

When I upgrade to SS Tyres I can lower times about 4 - 6 full seconds. I original tuned the car for use with SS Tyres, and when I use CS I just am a little more careful with the throttle. Once again thanks for your time.

@ Supermanfromazle, and Digitalbaka Friend requests have been sent. Thank you for offering your time and help. Both cars are in my shared folder.

If you would like I can send cars to both of you, with no need to return. Or any other car for that matter that isn't restricted to the 1 million cap. It will take a few days due to the 1 trade per day limit.

@Mudd thank you for the heads up with the app interface.

Not sure how to compare these fairly. One is running at 420pp on S3s while the other is 471pp on N3s. Even if we put them on the same tires that is still a pretty big difference.

I did run the blue one on a few courses and it feels solid. Nice and stable but lacking a bit of acceleration. I'd also like a sharper turn in, particularly for a course like Tsukuba. It felt a bit...dull. It was ok but some crispness could be a welcome addition in that department.

Ran the yellow only very shortly. With the extra horses it is definitely faster but could use some rear stability, perhaps through some downforce or a suspension tweak.

Very sorry I've been so unorganized, I have reset both cars @ 470PP and have equipped with SS tyres for setting A, B, and C. I run this car from 410PP-470PP with CS or SS Tyres, Feel free to alter it to your liking. Assuming you can alter the settings from the shared folder. If not I'll do my best to change these as requested, and or just send the cars as soon as I can.

I hope this hasn't frustrated you too much, and are willing to give it another go, time permitting.

Once again thanks

To multi-quote, tap the blue down arrow at the edge of the post you want to use. Then tap the empty square to the left. Repeat this with the next post you want to quote. Then press the square that has the arrow as before but select multi-quote. Then type where you want to type and your done.

Also, tap a post to see more detail. (Web Browser View I think it's called.) 👍

Now I'd I could only work out how to add pictures from Flickr from my iPhone.....

Welcome to GTPlanet. :)

Sure, I have no problem doing some more runs, just wasn't sure which was your target. Really liked the blue when I drove it; had a good feel if a little sluggish for my preference. We'll see how it stacks up at 470 now. 👍

Thanks, but you don't need to send me anything, Sir. I'm quite happy to drive your cars and give an opinion for free :)👍

I'll get on with some more testing for you shortly, just need to clean out my fish tanks first. Chores, chores, chores :sly:

I've already sent them both lol. No need to return, as I have more money and cars than i know what to do with. It was actualy beneficial to me because it forced me to login and was able to keep my 200% login bonus. I'm kinda lazy when it comes to daily log in.

Feel free to run @ your desired PP, and for tyre I would ask if you use CS or SS.

Once again thanks for your time CY

Ok, so I've taken the car you kindly gifted me and thrashed it around Tokyo and Trial Mountain. Both current 500PP A-Spec Online Challenge races. I know they're not the tracks you listed above, but I was short on Cr ;)

I've had a fiddle with the car and have put it up on share. The biggest difference was merely flipping the wheel alignment, both camber and toe. On Sport Soft tyres, this greatly improved corner exit. In fact I've not driven anything that exits a corner quite like it. Other changes include flipping the brake bias, raising ride height by 24mm all round, flipping spring rates (although I'm not sure this was the right thing to do) and I think I changed the dampers slightly. I've applied my own diff settings, I find the diff to be something quite personal. I prefer my diffs to be quite open, I think I applied my usual 8/16/8.

There's still a little bit of mid-corner understeer, frankly I'll take that rather than oversteer. I believe the overall setup is too stiff for Comfort Soft tyres, so I only tested on Sport tyres. As it is, I wanted to stay as close to the figures you've used, so I'd rather not try to make the car comfortable on ... ahem ... Comfort tyres.

I'll endeavour to write down the settings I ended up with and post them, if you'd like...
