****ING AWESOME.

My pick for game of the year (so far). Pick it up, it's a joy to play through. Unless you somehow are lame enough to NOT like blasting crazed villagers with all manner of cool upgradeable weapons. Or if you don't like mind-numbingly good graphics and atmosphere.

Did I mention that you can blow heads off of crazed villagers with cool upgradeable weapons?

Best. Gamecube game. EVAR.

It looked pretty good in EGM....... I might get this game sooner than I thought!

Hiya! :D :O  Meow! (='.'=)

I have just finished Residen Evil 4 and I think its one of the best game I have ever PLAYED!

I would review it on this forum, but I will end up typing too many words to bear! :O Great replay value too as you can start Round 2 after you beat the game and have everthing you had at the end of the game in your INVENTORY! EVEN IF THE WEAPON IS ALREADY UPGRADED!!! KILLER!!!! :O Some Funny unlocables like Infinite Rocket Lanucher for 1,000,000 Ptas though...and the Chigaco Typewriter and the Mathilda. :O Play as Ada in Assignment Ada and also the Mercenary mode where you can play such as Wesker, Krausser and Hunk. 👍

I'm on my second playthrough, and I have all 5 characters unlocked in the mercenaries game (Krausser is the ****!).

I enjoyed it even more than MGS3, which was my favourite game of last year.

I just bought the game and it is literaly one of the best games I have ever played. It absolutely roars on my surround sound. If you don't have a gamecube go and get one, its worth it for this game alone.

the sound is breathtaking. I nearly crapped myself on several occasions.

Oh yeah, anybody have the chicago typewriter yet? It's a murder machine. You don't even need other weapons when you have it.

Hiya! :D :O  Meow! (='.'=)

I haven't got the Chicago Typewriter yet because I just recently completed Assignment Ada, plus I dont have 1,000,000 Ptas yet on my Round 2 play! :O But I am saving for it so I can get rid of all these other weapons that just take up inventory space.

I have been looking at all the shops around me that sell games and i cant find it anywhere.. even EB games dont have it... it is very annoying :grumpy: :grumpy: :grumpy: :grumpy:

YAY! :O I finally got 5 star ranking in Mercenary Mode with all five characters! Just for completing that, I got the Handcannon! I also recently got the Chicago Typewriter and my goddess....its so overpowered! Working my way up again to get the Infinite Rocket Launcher!

I just beat the game, and I am thoroughly impressed and just in awe. Great continuation of the Resident Evil series. They also did a great job taking care of REs biggest problems (the controls and camera angles.)

Question though - how do you get the side pack thingie to equip? Can you? I bought one early on, but was never able to put anything in it...so I can't say I found it overly useful, and I bet it really hampered my progression later on (even though I did beat it).

lol. My friend and I have gone through the game 2 and a half times and we now have the handcannon, chicago typewriter, infinite launcher, mine thrower and semi auto rifle all fully upgraded. Makes the game really easy.

I remember buying the sidepacks stuff also and got the same problem. Once you buy it its already there, to give you more inventory space. You probably didnt see much of a difference because it doesnt add alot to notice, but its already automatically equipped. :O

it makes a huge difference near the end of the game. lots of weapons to hold.

to the person with all the weapons: do professional mode.

When you buy the side pack/attache case it automatically adds a row of blocks to the right and bottom of your inventory, allowing you to hold more cool guns and stuff. I believe there are several of these upgrades, and you should end up with a LOT of space in your inventory.

Yeah, just realized that on my second run through.

i agree with kinigitt... theres no way that you could beat the game in 9 hours in the professional difficulty...
This is by far the best resident evil game... the new things that are after you are way better than the zombies, they add a new level of fun and atmosphere to the game.
the weapons are way better and it is great how you can buy, sell and upgrade all of your weapons. the graphics are great.
the sound is better than any other game that ive played... espcially when you are playing it using a home theatre system like i am using.
the bosses are great... my favorite one was that giant guy... i think that it was called el gigante, if its not that it is something like that.
the cutscenes are also great...
wow... all this thinking and typing about it is making me want to play it... i think that i will...

This game is finally (Nintendo's version of)Greatest Hits!. My coworker just got it today, since he won't have time to play tonight, so he let me borrow it. I couldn't figure out how to turn on the progressive scan, so I searched for a RE4 thread, and found this:
a6m5
Is this game progressive scan compatible?
kinigitt
nope. and the widescreen format isn't true widescreen, it's letterbox.
I already asked this question over a year ago! :ouch: :D

Anyways, game's pretty good so far. I do wish the controls were bit better. While it has way better controls than previous Resident Evil games, I find my self wishing for Goldeneye type controls. Can not wait until I get more decent weapons.
