Hi fellow 360 gamers. I was having a look in my local deparment store today and they had both RE5 the standard game and RE5 Special Edition in the tin. They seem to be selling like hot cakes here. I am really interested to get the game but I cannot find a review anywhere. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

EDIT: Duh! Why didn't I think to check Wiki? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resident_Evil_5

Anyone else getting this?

Metacritic is always a good place to check

Thanks for the link. I will be checking that site more often! I have decided that this game is a must buy after seeing the IGN video-review. Although the review itself was very amateurish it showed some good gameplay footage and it looks intense. Can't wait to play this 2P co-op.

I cant believe no one is discussing this game. Many people already have it and its also out tonight at midnight.
So how long is it taking most people to get through RE5? I have the game reserved as a rental but if its a fairly long game I might consider buying at least 1 copy and rent the 2nd copy.

I played the demo for 3 minutes and hated it so much I had to turn it off. You can't move when brandishing a machete?! Pleeeeease... It's so slow and clunky and the inventory system is prehistoric. Not my cup of tea at all. Disappointed to say the least.

Its how all the RE5 games have been. Any true gamer should have no problem adapting to controls from game to game. You can also hot key weapons and items in your inventory to the D pad. If you cant adapt to controls from game to game then you are right, this game is not for you.

I am playing through it co-op with a friend (on PS3) and we're loving it. Both agree it's the best game we've played in a long while. So far, the only thing we hate are the vehicle sections.

I saw a review of it on xplay last night. They gave it a 3 out of 5. They said it was playable, but that was about it. They said that it hasn't advanced any since the last game, and the controls were horrible.

I think it's my age! I find it harder now to get used to different controls especially in F/TPS games. I always try to set them up as similar to my controls for COD4 as I can. I did not know that you can hot-key items - I should probably give it another go then.

Heather and I played a good solid 4-5 hours of RE5 last night and made it to level 3.2 with full exploration. So far its a decent game but at this point I am glad I only rented our copies. Maybe it will get better but so far its just been way too slow paced.

I love this game. The only fun part is playing co-op with a friend. Otherwise, you'll end up with a stupid A.I or some online people who don't know how to use their brain.:indiff:

That last boss was incredibly frustrating with a co-op partner. After an hour and a half of trying over and over again we almost gave up. But we finally beat it and plan on going through at least one more time. I guess if you go through as a single player it is much easier but as co-op the last battle is a pain.

Also the game CAN be beat within 5 hours. If you do, you get unlimited rocket launcher. But you would have to know exactly where to go and would have to rush through the game at an insane pace. Basically the only way to do it is to get "S" rating after every single level. I am not sure where the overall time is located at but I would guess our first play through too around 12-15 hours with full exploration of each level. I cant even comprehend beating it in 5 hours but I know it could be done once you memorize the levels.

So overall its a good game but I am glad we only rented it.

We are on our 2nd play through and it is a lot more fun. Heather has unlimited shotgun ammo and I have unlimited sniper ammo. Makes the game much more enjoyable.

I have to make a correction about my previous post. It took us exactly 10 hours with full exploration to get through the first time on easy. Now for our 2nd play through we are going through on normal and we are on level 5.1. We only have a few days left on the rental so we need to get through this in the next couple days.

I'm somewhere on level 2. The only time I play is on co-op with my boyfriend which can't happen every night so it's taking us a while to get through it... we're playing on normal which is challenging enough without being ridiculous/annoying. Pretty awesome game.

And to the people who don't like the control scheme/limited inventory/inability to run and shoot, that's how all RE games are. That's part of what makes a good survival horror game, the frustration you get when you're under pressure, have limited resources, and can't just shoot with ease.

We are back on the last level again. I pretty much hate everything about this last level. So frustrating and cheap at times. I have definely had enough of this game after 2 full play throughs. We also found all the BSAA emblems. Some of those were almost impossible to see especially one of the very last emblems. Good game but glad I only rented it.

At this point we are done playing RE5. It was a good rental but overall I am glad we did not buy it. That last 6.3 level is just so annoying and I really could not stomach going through it again.

1st play through 10 hours with full exploration.

2nd play through 6 hours looking for the emblems.

This game could easily be beat in under 5 hours if rushing.

Currently going through to get as many achievements as possible. Upgraded all the weapons (Chris' Minigun is a laugh). Mercenaries is tricky at first but I'm getting the hang of it. Playing co-op does breath life into this game which is really just RE4 with shiny bits. Might consider getting the Versus DLC.
Great looking game, though I had to go to 720p on my 360 because the tearing @1080p was terrible. The sound could have been better. Not much oomph.
It's well made but ultimately re-hashes too much of RE4 to be great. But it does have decent re-playability. Spending 20+ hours on one game nowadays seems a rarity for me.

It's gonna take us a while to get through it because we literally explore everywhere. Last night we spent well over an hour on mission 3-1 just because we were looking in every possible place for treasures and such to sell. Fully upgrading weapons is a must.

We've had a couple of frustrating moments with boss fights but other than that we're really enjoying it.

You seriously havent seen frustration until the very last battle. I wont spoil it but even after 2 full play throughs I still hate how cheap the last battle is.

Yeah, I've heard from several people that the ending is crazy. If you had any, did fully-upgraded weapons help with that the second time?

Not that it was crazy but it is really cheap. You are almost better off having Sheva as the AI character because the person that has to control her has a very difficult time during a few of the button mashing scenes.
To answer the other question, yes I had a fully upgraded sniper gun and it helped a lot during a couple of the scenes.

Heh great, I play as Sheva so this is gonna be very interesting...

We're almost done upgrading the shotgun, and I heard the Magnum is really useful (we just found it recently) so I think we're gonna work on that one too.

I just got this and just got to the beginning of the 3rd chapter (air boat). I'm really liking and Enjoying the game so far. I played through to the 3rd chapter on saturday night, but the co-op person i played with skipped all the cut-scenes. So i started over with someone else. Definately a lot of fun. The Graphics are amazing, and i really enjoy the game-play style and exploration. I'm Glad i bought it as i don't see it getting old for quite some time. :)👍

I have a quick question, if i join some-one else co-op game and i play as Sheva, Do i get to use/play with Chris weapons i upgraded, or what my AI sheva has?
