I just watched this last night and I am kinda disappointed. The acting seemed quite cheezy in this one. The first resident evil movie was excellent IMO but I dont understand where they went wrong with this one. :guilty:
What were your thoughts of Resident Evil: Apocalypse?
 
I feel the same way. I absolutely loved the first one. I thought it was the best "video game" movie ever. I don't expect these type of flicks to make too much sense, but the second one was just plain silly. Since I'm a Resident Evil & zombie movie fan, I'm still gonna buy it, but it could've been so much better.
 
If you like zombie movies then you must have loved Dawn of the Dead that came out this year. THere is another thread about that though and I just replied in it.
 
Didn't see the first movie, but second one looks faithful to the third game's story (huh?) As it has the Nemisis monster.

No you don't. Saw it last night, worst movie I've seen in a while.
Awful acting, heinous writing, stupid story, stupid ending (with setup for a third movie :crazy: ), bland action choreography, the list goes on.
There is no worthwhile explanation of what is going on, and no backstory for anyone (none!). There is no reason to see this movie; if you think nemisis looks cool or if you reeeeealy have to see Milla naked again I'm sure you can find some vidcaps somewhere.

Yep. I liked it a lot. Ving Rhames in a role of LAPD Cop was an great choice. I think I'm going to have to check out that thread. Thank you!
 
This movie is probably the best movie I've seen in 2004. IMO is better than the original. It has action from beginning to end.

It would be cool if the dvd version had at least a music video in the extras, like Resident Evil did (It had Slipknot's My Plague [New Abuse Mix] ). Just my opinion.

My coworker told me that, he and his wife liked it better than the first one also. Well, if you read my earlier post, you know what I thought of it.....

P.S. I'm looking at the DVD's back cover, but it doesn't mention any music video in the extra feature. Sorry!
 
Jus watched this for a 2nd viewing (import DVD) and IMO in no way as good as the 1st but still extremely good fun to watch. It shoud be a crap film, it has a bad plot, bad editing, bad action scenes, apart from Milla pretty bad acting.
But yet somehow it works, to be very fun to watch.
I can understand why alot of people wouldnt like this cause its near enough non-stop action, which isnt to everyones taste.
But any film with the gorgeous Milla Jovovich & Sienna watserface in a tiny skirt is going to be watchable in my book ;)

I think that it is not as good as the first one... the part that i found stupit is at the end when alice fights nemesis... they made nemesis way to weak... anybody who has played resident evil 3 would know that there is nothing that could beat nemesis like that... you shoot him 4 times with a rocket launcher and it doesnt die ( in resident evil 3) but somehow he looses a fist fight... now that is crap.....
 
In my opinion, this movie was great. For the action. The story wasnt too great, but in the end i suppose all they were going for was a pure action flick. It's a great movie, and Milla Jovovich is one of my favorite actresses, and i thought the fight at the end was a rather welcomed addition. Now, i've never played resident evil 3, but i think the movie was great.

Good stuff all around. :)
 
Have seen this twice now & another 2 times with commentries & i still love it, for pure no brain entertainment this film is great. I agree the Nemesis sucked ass a little bit (ok alot) but i suppose as Alice (milla) is suppost to be infected with the same virus as Nemesis they had to be equal in a fight.

I still prefer the 1st movie (which IMO is excellent) but a fun movie none the less. Role on no.3!
 
I finally saw it. I loved it. But I think the reason that I like it is because it is action-packed. I am a person who could care less about cheesy dialogue, or stupid acting. This movie made me laugh, and was suspenseful enough to hold me to the end. The only problem I had with it was it wasn't scary enough. Just like Dawn Of The Dead, I didn't jump once. And apparently the version of Dawn Of The Dead that I saw had footage "Too scary for theatres". I laughed a whole lot during both the movies. Both of the movies were really humorous.
