I got a phonecall from my brother about 30 mins ago. My dad had been out of contact since St Johans day, and my grandma asked me to contact my brother and check if my dad is alright. My brother found him lying on a sofa.. apparently he had been dead for couple days. I just hope he's in better place now, he was very weak when I last saw him..

Rest In Peace, dad.. I'll miss you.

Take all the time you need off. I don't think they'll blame you.

When my father died, I took two days off of school. The day he died, and the day of his funeral. At school, I was apparently more or less normal, albeit a bit sadder. The teachers offered some counseling, and preferential treatment, but I declined. in the last month or two before his death, it was becoming blatantly aware that he wouldn't make it. I had pretty much already dealt with it when my grandmother picked me up from school and drove me away without a word.

But, if his death had caught me off guard, I would not be the person speaking to you now. I send my greatest condolences, for the one life lesson I have already learned.
