As for what people were saying about buying a truck: Isn't the Infiniti FX45 Concept a prize for one of the rallies? Does it count as a truck? If so, that might help with what vehicle to buy.
no it doesn't that is a SUV and they count that as a car in the game,
Ford Lighting, Dodge Ram, ToyotaX-Runner, Chevy SSR, and Chevy SS are the trucks in the game.

And the X-runner is the cheapest one but the Ram will give you 200pts on pretty much any race.

I used the RAM alot with my first game save, :).

Got me a load of A-Spec points. I even used it in Rally's.

Regardless of what people say, Some people can be brilliant at GT4 nd some can be average. Golding all the licences is near to impossible for me, I just ain't that good at the game.

I could barely touch gold when I first started getting the licenses. By the time I had got all the licenses, I think I had about 13 golds and about 55 were silver. Then at about 60% completion I decided I wanted the other prize cars and struggled through the licenses again. I managed to get rid of all the bronzes but still only got 28 golds. Once I had reached 100% I tried to gold all the licenses and found that with all the GT4 practise I had got, it was much easier. Took me a week to do the lot, and only a few were challenging to the point of frustration. I think the one that gave me the most trouble was IB15 or 16, the Nissan 92CP at Le Sarthe.

IMO if you can get silver on a licence test you have almost done all the work and learning that you need to do to get the gold - mostly there is not a lot of difference, just a slightly better exit/entry to a corner or a better launch. I often found that the difference was going slower into a corner - a very valuable lesson. Once you have silver compare your run to the demo and fix the bit that you are doing wrong.

Yeah but most of the the Silver is like the fastest I can go, I mean getting silver is me trying so bloody hard it ain't funny.

This will sound horrible and contrary to all you would expect, but...

Give up on it.

Go have some fun with OLR or personal races.
Race anything you want and don't touch a license for the next month or so.

I know that sounds like it wouldn't help but you will be suprised a month from now.:trouble:

The best example that I know of is my own mini-story. :p

Bought GT, played the licenses and got 90% bronze, 8% silver, 2% gold (approximately).
That was as good as I could do.
Decided to stop working on licenses and just got on with my game play as I would have regardless of my license performances.

Well that was right when the game came out in the USA.
About two months ago I went back to the licenses and found out that just playing the game gave me all the skills I needed to ace the license tests easily (well all except for the S-Rallies). :yuck:

Sure enough, after about 2 or 3 months of working on my normal game, I was able to beat the DTM 'Ring license test by more than a 30 second margin over my previous best.

So basically...
Play the game to have some fun and don't bother with the licenses.
Having fun and racing for whatever reasons will give you all the practice and refinement you need to take your driving to the next level. 👍

Good luck.

And remember, this is only an old dog's advice, no one says you have to try it. ;)

In that test, I think its like International A 15 or 16, the one where you go behind the pace car around the Ring. I got a 9'07.xx or something in that. EASY silver and only 7 seconds away from Gold. And I hate this track so much.
