I think it was for buying DLC or given with one of the updates. Not quite sure. I know they can't be traded and are only available on the main account of your PS3 (unlike the engine restore, oil change and chassis restore coupons.)

I may be wrong but couldnt you duplicate the ticket?
1. Save current game to usb
2. Start game, restore vechicle to new.
3. Send vehicle to dupe account.
4. Reload main account from save before you used the ticket, so that you still have 5.
5. Send restored car back to main account next day.

Yes, this will work with cars that can be traded.

No. If you want to see, just restore the 02 Ford GT and try this procedure.

It does not work with the Ford GT '02 because it can not be traded. See my previous post.
