Hey, so what is the written test like??? I want to know.

I'm too lazy to get mine now, maybe in a few weeks.

I might book a lesson for the weekend, seeing as my dad is away..

OK, his first day on the road, and he's already exceeded the speed limit and bragging about it.

can I open this betting pool that he doens't make it a year without having an accident?

Meeekal, please use a bit of sense, and respect that car for the weapon that it can be. In the real world, you don't bounce off other cars.

AO

Maybe he's allowed to go 140km/h in New Zealand. What is that, 85mph to us SI users?

Challenging others already, that's trouble. I put 10 credits on his Magna's and license's demise.

I missed one question on my written test, and got a perfect score on the driving test.

Just because he was speeding on his first day of driving doesn't mean he'll wreck within his first year of driving -- or ever, actually. I sped like a madman on my first day, and I've went 22 months without wrecking or even coming close as far as I can remember.

Anyways... Congratulations, and be safe!

Hey Der Alta put me down for five bucks within the first three months and $20 on the first 6 months

Josh, you've managed to make it less than two years before causing some damage. Does this include speeding tickets?

Here's a stat to think about, I've travelled in exces of 135mph. Yet only got my first ticket last November after 15 years of driving. No accidents in all that time either.

Another Stat for you. In the US, less than 1/4 of 1% of all drivers make it to 25 without an accident or ticket.

And it looks like I'm not the only one who thinks there will be a consequence.

But in all seriousness, I'd like Meeekeal to get upset at me and prove me wrong. By the note at the end of your post, I think you're in the same thought as me.

Ask Gil how many young guys he's seen come into his section of the hospital because of their driving habits.

And for a recap: Acidman gets his license. Have we heard how he's doing lately?

yeah that is true, but as you stated, I am hoping this has a reverse effect on driving habits for Meek. . . Trust me I have driven passed 180mph and it gets to a point where you can't think you just drive. . . I have a clean record and have had one for 5 years now, the last incident I had was at 18 and it was a kid jumping out into stopped traffic and hitting my car. I was dead stopped. The kid's mom takes me for 6 grand and neother of us were faulted for him hitting me. Talk about a judicail system that works. The last thing had also was not my fault, a dam Scalade ran over my car in a parking lot at work, thus no more Miata.

I got mine in the holidays. Ive been driving my mates around the steep hills in Wellington in my dads Maxima after school, ****ing awesome. Just hold it in 1st all the way up the windey hills and let it cut out in first. Now I need to get a job to pay for the gas

I second what everybody said about him wrecking within the first year - I made it quite awhile before wrecking, but my brother didn't make out of his second week before destroying my father's brand new 1990 Lexus ES250.

Tsk Tsk, breaking the law, naughty naughty!

Everyone does it. Every day after school there is yr11 and 12 students loading up their cars with mates and driving off from the car park. Yr13s can park in the school grounds, lucky buggas, we have to park at some construction site, gravel though :trouble:

By yourself? With a restricted, aren't you only allowed to drive if you have a person with a real driver's license with them? Hence the restricted?

Our license system:

Learners
Held for 6 months.
Can only drive with a 'supervisor', who has held a full license for more then 2 years.
Must display 'L' plates on front and rear of car.

Restricted
Held for 18 months, can be reduced to 12 months if you sit a defensive driving course.
Can drive without supervision anywhere at any time, but if you have any passengers, you must be supervised by a person who has held a full license for more then 2 years.
Can't drive between 10PM and 6AM without a supervisor (I think).

Full
No restrictions at all..

You have to park at St Josephs place, - it's really Transit land.

Do you go up around Roseneath and Mt Victoria, fun! The tight winding corners with hairpins to die for yummy!

I dont know what it is called. Its across the road from St Marks and the Basin Reserve, on the corner.
My favourite hill is Brooklyn Hill, I go up there every day cos I live there, and through Wadestown, my mate lives there. And yeah, the way up to Mt Vic is fun.

I might take a drive up there later on :trouble:

I'm beginning to think that ALL young drivers, as a condition of licensure, should spend 2 hours a week for an entire semester volunteering at a Rehab hospital. On a floor devoted to rehabbing folks that have been in MVA's and are recovering from Closed Head Injuries.

If you know anyone that has had a stroke. Consider having similar symptoms at 17 vs 77.

I remember a kid who was thrown from a vehicle at 70 mph and he broke and degloved one leg and one arm.
As for degloving, imagine having the skin almost to the bone scraped off by the pavement. That is literally what happened.
Then take into account the comprehension, and mental deficits. It ain't a pretty picture.
If you're going to be a fool in a car please fill our your organ donor card. You won't need those organs if you're "brain-dead"
At least if you only kill yourself, you can help somebody, or several somebodies in the process.

I have my Restricted Licence too and at the moment i am halfway through my defensive driving course. (last two nights - 7pm to 9pm - are this Tuesday and Thursday)

Which means i'll be able to sit my full licence as soon as i finish this course.

But i don't have a car...

Thats where the parents come in. My only problem is after taking one of their car for a drive (more of a thrash than a drive), I feel all guilty. I dont know why

Mum has a 88hp (or less) 1980 Toyota Corona and it is not running at 100%. (basicly it's slowly falling to peices).

Dad has a 250hp+ 1990 Nissan Skyline GTS-4 (R32) and he live more than three hours away...

So i can't use my parents cars.

And yes the driving course is all paperwork. (along with video watching and group activities etc...
There's about 30 people in each course. (and most of the ones in my course are younger than me!)

Der Alta...I pfffft you....lol

I am a safe driver.......just that was the first time....on the road...by myself......i couldn't help myself........anyways......i was nearly past 10.00 so i had to get home........lol......2 laws broken.....

I wont use driving for fun....not my parents car!

Its just a method of getting from A to B........stop betting.....:(!!

I still havent had a crash......was around when one happened...but didnt cause it......... .... ...... ..... .....:)

Well my gramar is quite bad today.
Better get that fixed.

Im scared now......I like my skin!!....no joke intended.....

Im not letting my friend have a ride home today...talk about resisting peer presure!!

My dad said that confidence grows before ability....I agree with that and now i am a sensible...safe drive......most of the time ;)
