Bit early, isn't it? Update isn't out yet and I'm pretty sure its still February.

ooohhh...that's a good question, my money is on the Lexus. The Alpine might be more fun, but I have a feeling it won't be as balanced.

I really can't wait to get midfield.

For cars of this calibre, there are really only 4 corners. Corner 1, 4 into the tunnel, 5/6 is basically a double apex single corner to me, and 7, the hairpin at the bottom of the hill. Assuming the same layout of course. I never found Midfield to be all that technical, it's more of a power track IMO.

My bet is the Lexus. Midfield is technical turn filled track. The Alpine looks like it's in a hurry to go straight where the Lexus looks ready to turn on a dime.
Midfield is a circuit I would not describe as particularly technical. T1 - T4 is usually flat-out in all bar the most powerful cars.

@Johnnypenso describes it as a power circuit which I think is absolutely correct.

Definitely a power circuit in reverse uphill. Standing start with the Supra RZ, too much wheel spin. RX-7 is balanced, but an R34 would be what you want. An R35 wouldn't be as much fun because it's too good. A C5 ZO6 would be just right.

Isnt this like lmp2 vs gt3 in terms of pace? If the cars are left as-is I think the Alpine would be able to brake later and maybe corner faster. Depends on the LF-LC specs. My guess is if its over 1100kg, it wont be as fast.

Could you add the Mini VGT along side?

Anyway I think i'll go for the Alpine VGT, the track has a more of high speed corner so Alpine is (in my mind) going to be much faster than the Lexus however i'm having this thought for some reason that Lexus is going to be balanced at cornering (something like 50:50) while Alpine is going to be spinning out like a monster out of control.

Well looks like I'm the only one that feels the way I do about this thread. Might as well participate:

I'm betting it won't even come close, it'll be the Lexus by far. It'll have GT3 Horsepower AND better balance through the corners.

28 other people voted the same as you, you don't seem to be the only one.

Personally I went Alpine. I think it will be faster on the straights, and I don't think Midfield is twisty enough for the Lexus to recoup that thanks to having a lot of downforce (I'm guessing). It'll be like LM55 vs. FT-1 VGT.

Judging off the gameplay videos, the Alpine appears to be as quick as a touring car (though its acceleration seems quick) so I don't know that it'll be as fast on the straight. Of course we haven't seen the Lexus yet but given this appears to be going for a GT3-based performance (as well as the fact that it was design by the same people who made the Toyota FT-1 VGT), I feel its hardly gonna be a contest.

I had to go with the Alpine, it looks faster, lighter and has a lower center of gravity so it could be quick in the corners as fast on the straights.

The Alpine is similar to a roofless Le Mans Prototype. It will easily beat the Lexus... But of course it also depends about how power each one has... But I think the Alpine will be very fast.
Some say the Lexus will be faster because its supposed to be like a GT3 car... since when GT3 cars are that fast?

I don't think Midfield is really a power circuit because it has a bunch of different kinds of corners both uphill and downhill. The cars need not only power but grip and balance aswell.

Well, at least we know hoe much power the Alpine has:-

TECHNICAL DATA
CHASSIS
Type: carbon monocoque
Suspension: double wishbones, pushrods, adjustable spring/damper assemblies

ENGINE
Position: mid-rear
Type: V8
Cubic capacity: 4,494cc
Maximum power: 450hp at 6,500rpm
Maximum torque: 580Nm at 2,000rpm
Maximum engine speed: 7,500rpm
Top speed: 320kph

TRANSMISSION
Seven-speed sequential gearbox
Rear-wheel drive

BRAKES
Front: 390mm x 32mm vented discs with six-pot callipers
Rear: 355mm x 32mm vented discs with four-pot callipers

WEIGHT AND CAPACITIES
Weight: 900kg
Weight distribution: 47 / 53
Fuel tank: 75 litres

If we assume the Lexus is similar to a GT3 or GT500 car, we can make a guess as to which will be faster.

Is all that true?
Only 900kg of weight... Unless the Lexus has a massive amount of power, the Alpine will be much faster.
Also it has a very good weight distribution and a good amount of torque.

They should give us the alpine, and I'd like to see some open wheel F1 style VGT's but that would probably be some copyright issue.

I remember midfield, remember driving the old FGT in the A spec F1 series back when it was an absolute super formula car, probably 10 secs faster a lap than the current driving on eggshells FGT.

Should be a nice add, would really like a course creator though. Dont know why they took so long probably to try and combat PS4 titles or something which is stupid. Hope that's not the main reason.

MINI VGT!

*BA DUM TSS BA DUM TSS *
If ypu think MINI is faster please change your votes! Greatly apreciated!

Sometimes, I think you run purely on a dangerous combination of enthusiasm and sugar

Those numbers remind me a bit of the Toyota TS030, a really really fast car around 620-630PP
Remember that GT6 does not take in account the hybrid power of the TS030 when displaying power figures. When that bad-boy unleashes full power it runs at about 830bhp.
