Reverse - Can it be mapped to the Gear Selector?

One thing which has annoyed me in every GT is the reverse "button" :dunce:

Is there any way in GT5 to map the selection of the reverse gear to the gear selection like on a normal car. Scrabbling to find the triangle button in the dark after I've over cooked the exit of a corner is doing my head in more than ever :nervous:

G25 wheel with the H-pattern shift allows you to select reverse with the gear-shift. (Although that's probably of little use if you don't already have one as they're out of production!)

On the DFGT you can map the up/down shift on the stick to any function. I've got pull back for handbrake and push forward for reverse; I use the paddles for shifting. Much quicker than hunting for a button.

This was driving me nuts last night.
I got stuck face into a wall.
So, I pulled the gear down until "R" showed up.
But as soon as I would hit the gas, it would change to "N".
I eventual found that you have to hold triangle (which sucks).
I would even be happy if I could map it to one of the red buttons on the face of the wheel (G25).
How/Where do you change what buttons do which functions?

If you have a G25 as you mention in your post then using H pattern you can select reverse and use the throttle. Works fine for me.

Unless you are using a car that just has paddle shift the reverse works for the H-pattern.

If your car has paddle shift you have to hold the triangle button.

Thanks. I have my shifter setup in the "up-down" mode, rather than the "H-pattern".
I did find a great post about how to configure all the settings for the G25, so I currently have reverse mapped to one of the face buttons on the wheel.
