Revisiting licenses

Has an update in the past year affected the times you can achieve in the licenses?

Having fixed my cockpit after some time away, I thought I would have a go at beating my already competitive times on the National B and National A licenses.

I am behind my ghost every time on each license event.

It's not just me being rusty as I am behind my ghost from the very start of the licence events each time!

I tried a search of the forum but couldn't find this being mentioned before.

Has anyone else noticed this, and if not have a go at revisiting your license attempts to have a go at matching your times?
 
I revisted the license test recently and I was quite a lot faster than before except I don't think the physics had to do with it, I think it was just me getting better after lots of driving.
 
I remember that the License Test, Driving Mission and Coffee Break in 1.00 had a different time for gold, sliver and bronze than update 1.01+.

In 1.01+ update, the times for these events are easier.
 
The update that brought about these ridiculous camber & toe settings for stock suspension will have made them slightly more difficult than they were before, because having 1.5-3.5 rear camber [up from 0.0-1.0] and rear toe now at 0.60 [up from 0.20] all adds to making the stock settings just a bit slower. Some cars have retained 0.0 camber but I don't think any of those are used in Licence tests or mission races.

I think PD possibly did this on purpose because they saw it as the only way to make things a little more difficult without revising [lowering] the set times.

I had tried A-2 briefly again this morning and was slightly behind my ghost again at the beginning of the test, without having done anything to be slower.


At least I know why now.
 
I was wondering why my ghost (in license tests) was pulling away right from the start too. Often a tenth down by the time I hit the first corner. I even bought a new DS3, thinking my old controller was on the way out.:rolleyes:

With the notable exception of the S-Licences, which had new gold times added, while the old gold times became the new silver ones.
