If anyone knows about me, then you may know that I am a late bloomer to drifting, but if you ask me, after seeing episodes of "Initial D" and playing GT3 with drift settings, I actually think drifting is fun. And much respect to Kazunori Yamauchi for making a big deal out of this. Of course, if I wanted to pick out certain cars, I'd go back to "Initial D" and race either an AE86, an RX-7, a black R32 Skyline (reminiscent of that dude from the "Night Kids" gang), or whatever. Hell, I'd drift out an Esperante GT1! I think drifting is fun. And if that gets into a rewards program, I say, "So what?" I say have some fun. It's not like a contest where you take a Supra GT500 and pimp it out with neons, color-shifting paint, air suspension, DVD systems, or whatever (expect negative reactions to this sentence, John...).
But in terms of rewards, someone mentioned chances to double your winnings. That reminds me of "Super Mario RPG." I remember beating a boss, when tried to double my winnings, and when I had the chance, I lost all my money winnings. Damn shame. But to me, Don't make a racing game a game about "winner takes all," at the expense of losing your car. If you want a car to go, you sell that car whenever you're ready. Or what I used to do, I take a not-really powerful car, win some races, then "gamble" on it by looking for a more poowerful car within my by budget and sell my old car if the "gamble" is successful.
As a final note, I got the reward idea about "complete these objectives" based on "Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution." VF4:E had objectives ranging from "knock down your opponent," all the way up to "win 10 matches in a row without a Ring Out." Okay, that's all. Reply.
