I got rfactor about 2 years ago but i could never get it working right.
Its running really slow, as in about 6-8 fps in game and about 3 fps in the main menu. I dont know why it is. I can play lfs at about 40 fps and no problems. Why is this? I only have d1 allstars mod installed.

Steering axis sensitivity in rFactor (usually the X axis) should be set to 50%. Your problem is a dead ringer for incorrectly set sensitivity, and the in-game setting isn't exactly intuitive - you'd (wrongly) assume 100% sensitivity means 1:1 steering throughout the wheel's range of rotation.

In rFactor, yeah. You can spin the wheel while in the controller config screen and check what the red steering bar does as you make changes to the sensitivity. If 50% doesn't do it, what you can also do is turn your wheel halfway (ie for a 900 degree wheel, turn it 225 degrees in one direction - between half and 3/4s of a turn) and adjust the sensitivity until the bar is exactly halfway between the centrepoint and the maximum. This will correspond to 1:1 steering.

Sorry for such a big delay.
So that 50% thing worked.
But the force feedback feels really weird, nothing like gt5. For some reason it wont turn where i want it to when im going over 20mph. If I lock the steering wheel the the front wheels wont follow. Its really weird. When i get it into a drift it doesnt feel at all right. Its like driving on flat tires.

The force feedback is a little funny in rFactor. Download this mod to imporve on the feel: http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Real%20Feel%20FFB%20Plugin

I believe there is also a drift mod somewhere on the site that will help make adjustments to the physics to be a little more conducive to drift.

i do not even feel any FFB when playing rFactor :/ why is this?

I suppose you have a dfgt, do you have the latest logitech drivers for your wheel? Go to logitech site and download it.
Anyway this is my ingame configuration:

Sensibility:
10%
50%
30%
20%
80%
0%
100%
25%

Force Feedback:
steering
medium
-100%

Download the drivers and try my settings. The FFB feeling is great, slightly better than GT5 imho.

Maybe, always install as administrator, i have the digital version, i dont know if the DVD was an issue, can be, try make and image then mount with daemon tools, thats speed a lot, even the installation.

👍

Bad news. I deleted rfactor out of program files and went to reinstall it, and it wouldnt work. I tried autoplay, install rfactor, i tried cleaning the disc, i tried restarting the computer, and nothing. I checked to see was it my drive but its not.
