RGT Landing - Gran Turismotography

I've had GT4 since December 2005, but I've just started to explore the in-game photography tools in the last week. I shot all these on Saturday. I have several more in the works that I'm going to modify in Photoshop before updating again. The Crossfire is one of my favorites. I found those wheels in the used section after not being satisfied with the new ones, and they look great on the car. I try to pick locations and tracks with colors that complement the cars, or at least speak to its heritage (like the Ford GT Race car cruising to victory at de la Sarthe). I would appreciate some initial feedback. Thanks.

Nice start man! I like the S2000 ans crossfire pics. YOu seem to of done your home work too, as they are not dark, and the size/resolution bar has been removed. 👍 Great stuff! Keep 'em coming! :dopey:

If you get chance, feel free to check my gallery and leave comments.

Magburner,

Actually, I just found this site on Saturday, but I didn't have time to upload them then. I am just now going around checking others' galleries. Thanks for the comments, I'm just going to click over to your gallery.

Nice start so far!!! A few helpful tips, play with the shutter speed on your photos. An example would be the ford gt, its a really nice shot, BUT the wheels aren't spinning and there is a lack of motion.

Another is when you get really up close to a car such as the crossfire it reveals all the jaggies and paint problems. This can be cleaned up in photoshop but if not it kinda ruins the nice shot. Not your fault of course, just the ps2 hardware limitations.

So my advice is play with the all the settings (exposure, shutterspeed, focus, zoom, whitebalance, and saturation). Its really just a matter of trial and error.

And one last thing; for the longest time when taking pictures I would be going through all the numbers looking for a good shot rotating some shots, zooming in ect, just to get the right look and then one day I accidentally pressed up on the directional pad and found it allowed me to raise and lower my camera on most of the shots (I could have slapped myself for not realizing this).

Just trial and error my friend. Your off to a great start though 👍!

Thanks for the comments and tips. Like I said previously, I haven't even had a chance to run these through photoshop, yet, and I knew they would have some imperfections. The second Crossfire pic is a raised camera shot. I picked the camera that was close to that rear corner of the car, and while that was a good angle, I appreciated the view over the top of the car better.

I appreciate the comment, and I could have an edited version up again by Friday to display my abilities with Photoshop.

I look forward to seeing it and hopefully you will start to enter some of the competitions around here to showcase your talents 👍! The more the merrier!

WELCOME to GTP!!! Impressive start. Your pics are very good. The S2000 is simply amazing. You know how to do things right. Follow Garnettrules21 tips, he knows how to make great pics. I hope see more from you mate. Keep it up:)

Nice start man. Get those photoshopped pics up. You seem to already have pretty good skills now. Have a look at my gallery if you want, you might get some ideas from my many updates.

I like the 2nd shot the most, oh and a nice catchy title you have for your gallery.

Thanks NTX, LG Force, Krame, De@tthwi§ho0 and TVR&Ferrari_Fan for all the comments. I will probably have a small update ready by this evening. I have some great shots of a Prowler in New York. And...they have movement. Yes, honest movement!

Sneak Preview!

Nice Preview, I am looking forward to the full update. I have always been tempted to take shots of the Prowler, but I cannot decide when to fit it into my own GT4 gallery.

The preview had more of the appearance of art than reality, I think, but I'm still playing with several other pictures to make them look more real. I have some great perspective shots with the Prowler at bottom center looking up to the tops of buildings that should turn out more like photos. I think if I played around with that preview shot some more, it might make for a great desktop background.

Thanks for the comment, TVR, and I'll try to have the Prowler set done this evening.

You are one of the new users with potential, very nice pictures. Im guessing in a few weeks you'll get the hang of photoshoping gt4 pics into artistic pics.

love the ford gt and crossfire pics, great job.

Feel free to look at my gallery here

Here is my first update. I was really pleased with the Chrysler Prowler pictures in New York. Two of these required only minor adjustments to the levels, brightness and contrast.

I love the first and 2nd shots the most. The 1st shot shows how tall the background is against the car.

wow, i like the 1st and 4th pics the most, nice job

TVR&Ferrari_Fan - Yeah, that head-on shot of the Prowler with what I am guessing is the Time Building in the background is great. I couldn't have asked for a better photo out of GT4. I merely adjusted the brightness and added just a little bit more contrast. It came out really well. Thanks for the complements.

Niels - Thanks for the positive feedback. I already have a few more ideas in the works, and should have another six to eight pictures to update by Friday.

Wallrunner51 - those pictures seem to be popular with everyone I've shown. Thanks for the feedback.

You stole my words:),, great job on thta pdate mate:)
Keep em coming,, you've got some great potential:D

De@tthwi§ho0: Thanks for your comments. Both of those pictures are my favorites too. I need to take the Cadillac Cien out on that same stretch, maybe closer to the Times Building to get right in front of the Cadillac badge on the advertisement.
