There are a few things I dislike about this game:

The cars seem unable to cope with bumps (particularly when only one or two wheels hit them)

The brake bias feels all wrong, or there is too much weight transfer to the front because the cars swap ends under brakes too easily.

It needs a proper non-linear steering program (like GT4) to better simulate the response of the steering.

The cars seem to have a very high centre of gravity; they roll too easily which is frustrating.

And finally, the pace-notes are virtually useless. With such complex stages (which I applaud) the notes needed to be individually written and timed for each stage rather than trying to use a stock list of calls.

Now before everyone goes off and says to me, "You just hate it because it's hard; this is a realistic simulation etc etc"

I drive a Subaru Impreza (Group N) in real-life rallies and it is far more stable car and easier to drive at speed than the cars in RBR. I have never driven a WRCar but they are an even more capable car than mine so they should therefore cope better with the bumps etc. You only need to watch WRC footage showing WRCars and Group N cars for comparison to see this is true. WRCars just float over bumps.

Having said that, RBR generally does a very good job simulating the rally environment. The stages are the best in any game, the setup options are exhaustive (probably too much so), and the damage is relatively realistic. I am glad this game was developed, the genre was crying out for it.

Now we just need RBR2 ( not likely given Burnsie's condition) to work on the details.

Oh, one more thing. I don't like how they modelled the cars' behaviour over the Mineshaft. You don't get THAT much air in real life, even though it's one of the most exciting pieces of road I've ever driven.

Wow, awesome, I can't believe there's someone from Aus who actually drives Group-N cars in RL and plays RBR and GT4 with the DFP! Good stuff.

ANd yes the air on the mineshaft is ridiculous!

VTRacing, how much lock (at the wheels and the steering wheel) do real rally cars use? 540 seems to be the go at the wheel but I remember seeing different from some in-car views. In RBR I'm using 540 at the steering wheel and 605 at the wheels, would that be authentic? btw the default setting in RBR is 450 degrees at the wheel and 504 degrees at the wheels.

Also I would agree with the statement about the cars swapping ends way too much under brakes in the game, and the high centre of gravity, sometimes it seems impossible to keep the cars under control. I'm gonna have a play around with the settings and see if there's anything that can fix it...
