Miami Vice Tribute Race?! AWESOME!!! Seriously...What a fantastic idea for this week's race, @danbojte. 👍

I have never used the Sharpen setting, I have always used Normal.

I'm using Full HD, never have used 720p for Gran Turismo, only for an old action game which wasn't built for 1080p.

My wheel setting is 2 and 8.
0 for controller sensitivity.

I've never tried the Sharpen setting either. I'm quite skeptical about these claims, but I'll give them a try someday when I have time to run an actual experiment, ie. multiple runs in Sharpen and then Normal mode. Like you, I always drive in 1080p mode. Controller Sensitivity is only applicable to DS3 users, so I run my setting at 0 as well.

If there are people who feel that Sharpen does actually increase tire grip, then I hope everyone remembers to put it back to Normal mode when competing in these Ridox Replica Garage Fan Club events. :odd:

Whoa...

I just finished a 20 lap practice session on Monaco for our Miami Vice Tribute Race this Saturday. @danbojte, does the Ridox Replica Garage Fan Club insurance policy cover claims submitted for new quarter-panels, front nose pieces and/or body paint? Because I have about $30,000 in damage on my car...and there was no one else on the track!!!  :nervous:

This is my own fault. I never run Monaco in my free time. I don't know the track well at all. As I'm going round and round Monaco, I'm thinking to myself, "How the heck am I supposed to pass anyone on this track?!" This is going to be a very interesting race weekend!! :D  My goodness... To be honest, I'm a little bit scared of how things are going to go for me here at Monaco. 🤬 :p :D At least I collected some decent data on this car/track combo. My best lap wasn't very good - 1:57.124... :banghead:

EDIT: Just wanted to add...this race is going to be quite a workout for the drivers with steering wheels. The hairpin turn alone is quite nuts. How the heck do you negotiate turns like that with a DS3?! Those of us with steering wheels are going to have Popeye forearms after these races here at Monaco. :sly:

Anyone who has seen the closing laps of the 1992 Monaco F1 Grand Prix will know that a much faster car hasn't got a snowflake's chances in hell of getting past if the guy in front places his car very selectively.
Passing in a one-make race without touching & incurring penalties; good luck with that.

I'm testing now my Evo VI TME replica on CS at Tsukuba, sharpen : 1:05.544, then quit, changed to normal : 1:05.560, both on 1st or 2nd lap.

If the picture mode burden PS3, what about picture size and 720 vs 1080p vs 1080i ? or cockpit view ( less fps ) or 7.1/5.1 surround vs 2ch LPCM ?

EDIT : Dropped to 1:05.4s with normal on 1st lap ( retry )

I have run 720 for long time, it's just so much smoother and giving speed feeling better, stable fps. 1080 makes FFB dull, don't like that at all.

I have never used the Sharpen setting, I have always used Normal.

0 for controller sensitivity.

Ps3 just don't have horses to run 1080, it starts to cut other end, first loss is FFB, and game has so brilliant FFB at I want to enjoy it as it was intended, not nearly, only fully.
That 0 sensitivity makes awful delay on turn, try 6 or super sharp 7, 5 is on edge of fine, after several and several tests I have decided to stay on 6, gives best direct input from wheel to game imo. @ALB123 controller/steering sensitivity is not only for controller, even info says so, huge difference between 0 and 6.

I'm always using those values as on those pictures.

@ALB123
Yes, you can continue to smash your car into the barriers. It is covered by the insurance for this track.
Just keep in mind that the readers of tabloids will not appreciate the photos of your car taken immediately after the race. :p
It is very important here to not smashing and bumping the car in front. :scared: That will give us serious penalties...
Considering my quick testing session, I think your lap time is OK. 👍

@OdeFinn
Thank you. 👍 I'm taking in consideration very seriously your experience, tests and advices.
It is just I got so used with my settings and the free time for other attempts is so little... :grumpy: 👍

Tried sensitivity at 6, I was in the 1:57 , but I'm not sure that it did make a difference, might just have gotten better, I'll try with 720p tonight when I get back from work.

The problem is that I have a big screen and at 720p the image is awful. :yuck:

Squint :P

Went back to 1080p and I'll stick with it, I think. I have the same performance as with 720p, just the image quality is waaaay better. :p :)

All credit goes to our friend @TurnLeft :) :
could be fun doing an on line race with this, we don't have a Miami track but we do have a track/city/ by the ocean, wrong continent but who cares, if it's sunny in Miami it's sunny on the Cote D'Azur.

New settings:

720p
Controller sensitivity 6

Now Club, take care, I'm coming like the wind. :mischievous:

I'm on 40" good full HD Sony, about 5 feet distance, gonna stay 720.

Sensitivity of controller or wheel: on wheel it sets delay of your driving inputs, can be tested when on cockpit view, wave wheel and check is driver hands reacting 1:1.
7 no delay at all, but I don't like that because of G27 natural small tolerance, with 7 it makes straight line driving harder, you make car waving too easily, prefer 6 because of that.
Feeling during driving is thing to feel it, delay or not.

On controller like DS3 I have no test information, but assuming bit same effect, less forgiving for inputs if higher and more forgiving when on smaller values.

I kept the Controller Sensitivity at 6. 👍

I use a DS3 with sensitivity set to 0 and haven't had the slightest problem from day 1.
Well, that's unless you count the occasional bout of DS3thumbitis 👍👍 :D

Anyone with shifter and clutch, seems the 1.20 update has fixed the clutch play, and people have been reporting of smooth heel and toe and able to do flat shift :)

Try the clutch on the Ferrari and hopefully it works well and have fun racing, I may not be able to make it :( Haven't event got the chance to update the game yet.

When all are ready from their hot lapping tests I have one idea to test.
I run one stint on club practice room, whole stint 1:54.xxx laps.
Only difference from those my earlier showed settings was controller sensitivity, now on 7 with it. Brake balance 5/5.
But rims, I have to be nutcase but I'm claiming there is the difference. When you all know what is your current lap time there let me know and I'll say what rims I use, personal opinion from my selection is that those rims balance car to easier laps.

No nutcase here, I don't feel that I'm consistent enough with my own driving but I know a few tuners have tested rim size changes a tune. :)

1:54.xxx my best.

Did anyone test those ENKEI 5spoke rims, if yes tell was there any help on laps/driving?
