Rimac has announced plans to unveil the production version of the Concept_One at the Geneva Motor Show.

Looking virtually identical to the concept that debuted at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, the production model has a slender grille, a bulging hood, and a rakish windscreen. The car also features a carbon fiber rear diffuser, distinctive taillights, and 20-inch lightweight alloy wheels with Pirelli P Zero tires.

Rimac didn't have much to say about the interior but noted the cabin doesn't have any plastic parts so everything the driver touches is aluminum, carbon fiber, or Alcantara upholstery. Drivers will also find a digital instrument cluster and a bespoke infotainment system with 4G connectivity.

Motivation is provided by an 82 kilowatt hour battery which powers four electric motors that are located at the center of both axles. This setup enables the car to produce a combined maximum output of 1,072 horsepower and 1,180 pound-feet of torque.

In terms of performance, the Concept_One can accelerate from 0-62 miles per hour in 2.6 seconds, 0-124 mph in 6.2 seconds, and 0-186 mph in 14.2 seconds. Given enough room, the car will eventually hit a top speed of 220 mph.

The four electric motors give the Concept_One a torque vectoring all-wheel-drive system which precisely calculates the optimal torque distribution between the wheels. The all-wheel-drive system has four-different modes - including comfort, control, track, and drift - and owners have the option to customize the system to their wishes or deactivate it completely.

In a statement, Rimac Automobili CEO Mate Rimac said “My goal was to not to create an electric version of existing supercars. I wanted to create technology to make the supercar considerably better in every regard – faster, more fun, and more efficient. I wanted to make the supercar of the 21st century."

Production will be limited to eight units but there's no word on pricing or availability.

...That side profile though - it's so Koenigsegg-ish after the A-pillar, I can't help but wonder if there's some kind of relationship between them.

Despite the looks, on the other hand the Koenigsegg Regera has the battery, el. motors and equipments made by Rimac.

Rimac made the One. Koenigsegg got interest on said car. Koenigsegg asks Rimac if they want to collaborate to making the newest supercar. Rimac agrees to do the electric power works.

Thus, Koenigsegg Regera was born.

I do not. Serves no purpose and raises questions about the stage of development of the car after 5 years...

1088 horsepower! I bet if this was in GT6 it would be banned from a lot of lobbies.
Isn't an unmodified Veyron more than that after an oil change? And this is a whopping 8kg less

Except 2 things:

1. There are many cars exceeding this cars power figure in game (after oil change or upgrading. But still)
2. Its not the highest HP stock on production car IRL.
3. Despite the phenomenal acceleration since it powered exclusively by electric motor, it will not handle high top speed as well as the conventional engine.

Despite this having less hp than the Verona, it looks so much better than the veyron
