Hey guys, its me again :D . Well, I now own a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer and i'm looking for some rims. I want some Black, light weight rims, 17s maybe? Can you guys help me out?

Check out evolutionm.net. They have US Lancer specific forums and you could look there for ideas. Your lug pattern is 4x100 so there are tons of wheels available. How much you are planning to spend?

Blue with black interior. I want to do my entire car in a blue and black two tone color scheme. Thats why I want black rims.

Well, i'm not sure about this but my logic was that I should get tires and rims first because if I start making my car more powerful and keeping stock rims then i'll just be spinning my tires all day and not going anywhere. power isnt helpful with traction correct?

Upgrade your suspension and brakes first. Maybe even get some good quality tires. Wheels really aren't going to make that big a difference...at least not on a stock Lancer ES.

How can I upgrade my brakes with stock wheels on there if when I get new rims they are like 2 or 3 inches larger than the stock rims?

BTW: I don't really plan on racing untill I get much more done to it, I'm just thinking about what to get done first.

Does Buschur have a turbo kit for the US Lancer? I know RRM has one and so does RPW, and I think that is it.
Before the EVO came to US shores, Dave Buschur bought a US spec Lancer for testing. He designed a turbo kit for it that used the DSM factory TD05-14B turbo. He also fabricated a 2 and 3/4 inch mandrel bent piping from the turbo back. Once the EVO came, he scraped his ES and bought an EVO for parts fabrication. Im sure if one were to call Buschur they would make up the kit. He did have one at one time.

I was thinking about upgrading my wheels a while back, and I (think) learned a few things.

Two or three inches is a lot, even though your looking for lightweight wheels, you'll still going to feel a bit slower. Since there is a whole lot more distance for those wheels to roll, it's going to take longer to get started. Plus, you'll need a much lower profile tire, and if you drive them on the streets, and you hit a curb or something, wave bye-bye to the wheels. If you plan on racing it, I would suggest getting a different set of wheels, and put performance tires on those, either autocrossing, drag, or whatever tires you want.

Thank you goomba, I know I will need to be more careful with my car when I get new rims and tires. But my questions is if anyone has any brand suggestions for rims. Can you help me out there?

They are a little costly but 17" and only 15.5lbs is damn light. So I think it will be worth it to dish out the $280 each for them. They are call the O.Z. racing superleggera rims.

 Good choice. I was going to suggest OZ, but figured Tire-Rack was a better idea. They look very similar to Prodrive P1s that I'm in love with.
