They didn't have them when I was there, for compacts I know they had Opel's and VW Golf's. I'm sure if you looked at different rental places one of them might have them.

There are places that rent performance cars around. Like Elises, Boxsters etc. Although it would be pricier and it would be difficult for a younger driver to get one.

I should think rental places in Germany would have Minis, since they are techinically BMWs. But I'd contact some rental places to double check.

Just go to websites, AVIS, Alamo, Enterprise...they all rent cars over in Europe.

Not till March, and instead of SOS, I'm using Comptech.

But yeah, by that time, I should have 420Hp. But that's still a lot to use for a newbie on the 'Ring.

Blazin, they would rent Mini's right? I mean, they are British, but have the German engine, right?

MINI's are BMWs, technically, but the engine is made in Brazil, I believe.

Thanks guys. I've talked it over, and my car is staying. About 7 of us members are going this Spring Break, and I will be renting a Mini Cooper S.

So thanks for the help guys. I'll let you know how it goes after next week. 👍

mclaren....i can't tell you how jealous i am. lol.

i've been to germany, but, sadly, i've never been to the ring. we went to the hofbrau haus (sp?) instead. lol.

good luck on your trip though...and it IS a shame they banned cameras. :(

I know...
However, Chuck and Jonathen have cameras. However Jonathen's are back in Germany with his brother.

That's why I'm saying go with a reputable rental company.

Avis rents out A4's, MB C220, MB E 200.

???? You think those cars are sporty or THAT fun to drive?

[MacLarenF1GTR] you should check nurburgring.co.uk they have useful information there. I think you should rent a Lotus Elise. They aren't super expensive and the Elise is supposedly one of the most fun cars to drive in the world.

Actually some MB's are fun to drive along with Audis.
Even those models.

And right now, I haven't found a place that rents Lotus' up in Germany. So until I get there, and see one, I will be driving the Cooper S from the Airport to the hotel to the track.

Well, we plan to leave Sunday.

When did I say they would be fun?

I was merely saying that is what you could rent.
