Does Holden becoming defunct mean it will no longer appear in future Gran Turismo games due to legal issues?

They're pulling out of Australia by 2016 aren't they? Not the whole company shutting down as such.

Holden is a division of vauxhaul (or vice versa) owned by GM i think. So like datsun of nissan, gonna but still shelved.

From what I could tell, Holden/Vauxhaul/Opel are overseas versions of Pontiac and Saturn...both GM cars that no longer exist.

Those three all share current bodies with GM cars in America they aren't overseas versions of the defunct GM groups that you suggest.

Vauxhaul Opel and Holden do share badges but saturn and pontiac maybe only share a chassis.

I don't think Holden plans to cease to exist, just to stop producing cars in Australia. I believe they will still import other GM cars and brand them as Holdens.

Vauhxall is a division of GM, in fact it's a division of Opel, which is owned by GM.

Sounds about right as chevys in Britain are awful......and rare. The 3 best chevys aren't even over here or right hand drive. But Vauxhalls, especially VXRs are very popular, including the VXR8 aussie muscle.

Go look at the current line up for example the Chevy SS is a Holden, even GM have made reference to this in press releases. Buick shares bodies with Opel and Vaux just not engine and drive trains. The list goes on. I'm merely saying at one time yes they shared chassis with the non long gone GM car makers that were Pontiac and Saturn, but that isn't all they've done as I've proven with current line ups.

Skuzi for the OT but The normal chevy saloons and small hatchbacks sell quite good here in Spain, and they are good looking in my opinion so it would surprise me GM would take attention away from Europe, just when you see them more and more the last years.

Hudson has been dead for about 60 years now but it has been part of a big advertising campaign with Mario Andretti and will be in game eventually.

I think PD already see Holden as being dead, the only reason we have 2 Holdens in GT6 is because they are holdovers from GT4. FYI rest of world, we didn't stop producing Commodore's & Monaro's after 2004.

Ford Aus have already announced more or less the same timeframe for ceasing production I believe.

Technically Toyota are the winners, as they are the only ones who haven't announced they're pulling out, but Holden ceasing production puts massive strain on components suppliers in Australia - Toyota may have no choice but to stop production as well.
