I can only give the advise to never drive your car at the Nordschleife when it has rained, is raining or when parts of it are wet. Even when it is dry, you have to respect the track and be affentive from the entry till the exit.

My deepest condolences to their families and friends.
 
RIP.

This won't stop me from going again but it makes you think about dropping off the mph into the bends a bit as I have a child to come home to.

sad news, i heard about this on my uk forum...its very sad....i feel for their family :(

I was there too, Friday & Saturday.

The Clio crashed right before Wippermann (7:38 in the Clio RS vid @ page 2).

Last weeks victim didn't crash at the Karussell but at Klostertal.
 
I want to add, if you want to avoid getting thrown out of the car, get a Racing Belt. It's a great security improvement, not only for track racing. 👍

And if you want more security on the track, you can buy a Hans Device, Racing Suits, Helmets, etc..

Not the publicity that the Ring needs, as its currently headed towards being shut down.
 
R.I.P. The Ring has to be respected to all future people who plan on driving it....Life is not a video game, there are no re-starts when things go wrong, this is one of those "things went wrong" moments :(

The Ring is not called the green Hell out of amusement.

I went up also a few times, and it is needless to say that some drivers drive well beyond their abilities. (not pointing fingers at anyone). That will not be a problem if nothing special happens.
But the Ring has not a lot of side track, meaning if you loose traction, it gets ugly really fast. And a lot of the cars are stock street cars, not having any track safety feature.
3 or 5 point harnesses are the minimum for me.

I generally drive way too slow on the ring. But I want to go home after the Touristenfahrt, with my car in one piece. If i want to push the car, I go to other tracks with more track safety side space.


Trivia : Did you know that for the tourist days, more accidents happen outside the ring than on the Ring.

@ Eric : that will never happen. The CEO are idiots, that is true. But it has way too much meaning to be closed. And that discussion is running in germany for a long time, well before the whole corruption affair.
I fear more for Spa, but at least it also has interessted investors ( Gerarld Lopez aka Renault F1 )
