Rivals Event: Rising Storm 2 (Drift)
Score (At the moment): 52,482
Prize: Looks like it's going to be the Top Secret S15

They're using the Smart ForTwo and only drifting from the 50% mark. Beating that shouldn't be much trouble right now, at the moment I have a score of just over 70k using the Veloster and I'm a terrible drifter. The top guys have scores of about 170k and have good tunes for the Trueno on their storefronts which I will have to use if SIDEFX does a full track run.

Those tunes are set up for the people who created them. I've tried a few and all land me in the 70k range.
I'm a drift novice but have 2 or 3 10k+ strings in the run. Like I said on FM, if the prize is the TS S15, I'm more than happy not winning it. If it's the s204 or the M3 GTR, I'll be peeved.
 
Yes but as I'm terrible at tuning and don't have much of an idea on what I'm doing I struggle to get my car drifting round some corners which when I try the tunes from the top guys I find it a lot easier to get sideways and control the drift even if I get nowhere near their scores I end up improving on my own score a lot. I usually stop linking my drifts once I get to around 6k as I usually crash by trying too hard if I carry on. I'd like any of the unicorns that haven't already been handed out but voted for the M3 GTR on FM.
 
At this point I don't even care if I beat him as I've discovered how fun it is to throw the Cortina around.:lol:

Is his score 52,482? I couldn't find him on the storefront so I couldn't add him to my favorites.

As a complete noob to drifting I've only just realised how much skill it takes to get a really high score, I think I'm at 78k now in my Veloster but I could do this for hours without getting bored and there is still about 8k I've left out from spinning or tapping the walls. I got my first ever chain of over 20k on this event which felt good and was unexpected.

By the wording of it I'm guessing he's a T10/FM.net guy which likely means UNICORN prize.

I'll have to get on to this tomorrow, all of them cars are good for me apart from the GT500 as I somehow already had one even as a non-VIP yet a lot of people are missing it. Any ideas on what event gave out this car?

Also really happy that they've kept the Porsche events on for this month as at the moment I'm the second fastest stock 550 Spyder in the Giant Killer event, that will be improved sometime soon I hope.

Thanx for the info....what ever happened to keeping the OP up to date??....seems it has been forgotten about
 
This one shouldn't be too difficult to beat. I ran a 1:06.2 in 3 or 4 laps with a base tune...I think I can get into the low 1:05's or high 1:04's with a little more work. Kenan has said he's having a hard time getting out of the 1:07's....hopefully he's not sandbagging. :p
 
I ran a 1:05.3 after just 2 sloppy laps with my improved tune...1:04's should be easy once I have time to run a few more laps....maybe high 1:03's. Tune is on my storefront for free if anyone wants to try it.
 
Where can you see his current time? I think I've still got some work to do, I just can't handle that controller. When I want to steer left I very often steer left and down, and for right, it's right and up, and the car won't go where I want it to go. Had a few laps this morning, and all I could get was a 1:08:015. Well, I guess driving auto doesn't help, but no, I'm not going to even try that, as it turns out, I can't even steer properly, don't really want to throw driving manual into the mix.

If I see you on Monday I'll invite you to a private race and try to help you. You can follow me around Tsukuba and I'll help you with the proper lines and brake zones. My tune may be too loose for your liking, but it's on my storefront for free if you wanna try it. I do recommend you learn to use manual transmission though...manual w/clutch is better but just getting away from automatic overall will make you faster once you get used to it. Also, Kenan is on my friends list but I'm not sure if you can add him from my storefront or not.

Thanks for the offer. I think I know what my main point of screw up is, though, it's mainly at the second turn, when I try to steer left, and I move the stick left and down, which doesn't actually steer left. Just have to get used to the controller first, particularly to moving the stick left and right only.
 
I have a noob question about rivals mode, I was doing the Classic roadster lap time challenge last night (using the ferrari 302pi) and was looking at the top of leader boards and all the guys on there using the Ferrari showed 350pi. What gives?

Some rivals events do allow do allow you to bring the car to the top of its class
