road rage

In the UK you have loads of fat idiots in white vans that think they own the road and constantly drive up your ass, If Im on a clear road I just put my foot down and stay ahead. If Im in traffic and someone is driving aggressive and up my ass I just slow down and ignore them, eventually they get bored and overtake. If their in such a rush they shouldn't stick around too long.

Apart from the vans, I don't see much road rage and I don't really get angry when I drive.

I live in Miami.

I think that says enough.

I felt like an update. I finally was able to make it into the shop today. My wheel wasnt bent but I'm going to need a new rack, a new tie rod, and an alignment. Its going to cost $589. I think I'm going to buy a nice beefy 4x4 truck that can handle a little abuse.

It’s going to cost you $600 and you’re not going to file the report?

But otherwise, I'm mostly un-bothered by stupid drivers....the battleground is just part of routine driving. You just take a deep breath and move on.
The problem is that the fight often finds you whether you try to avoid it or not. Where I live, there is a healthy combination of idiots, morons, dip****s, and cyclists. Throw in ridiculously narrow city streets, millions of parked cars, wayward buses, and construction zones, and you have a congested warzone with no escape.
And if I ever make an eye contact with the crazies, I just do that crazy in the head gesture at them:
It seems to uhh...... upset them, more than just flipping them off. :D
I've given more one-fingered salutes in the last six months than I had in the previous six years...and I've calmed down as I've gotten older. Maybe it's because I don't like butterfly-fart horn they stuck in my 3.

Just thinking about how much I hate driving around in Seattle has put my diastalic through the roof in the last couple of minutes. I thank Christ that I'm moving in a month.

 The sad part is that I know exactly what you mean!

Road rage can cause so many problems that I’ve decided to just be a pacifist from now on. If you just pretend that every single other driver on the road is mentally insane, then it’s hard to get mad about anything. The only kind of aggression I show at all is that I have no qualms about flashing my lights at someone who’s unnecessarily clogging up the fast lane.

My dad keeps a foot-and-a-half long rubber pipe. The weighs about 5 pounds. It's duct taped on one end to make a handle. Of course he hasn't used it yet, but I accidentally took out my mailbox trying it out one time. Effortless. It'd put a person on the ground with one hit.

Keef + giant dildo = war machine. I would pay to see the rubber pipe in action. 👍

I should start doing that. Slow drivers in the fastlane is the most common(and annoying) problem for me on the freeway. I've been passing cars from the on/off ramp(extra long one, just made for it :p) like once a week in the morning commute.

On a lighter note I have a funnier one. I was driving with my dad one day and I came across an old man in a Buick doing 30km/h in a 60 zone, holding me and traffic up. When the road finally became a 2 lane road I started to pass him and as I roll up beside him, he starts yelling at the top of his lungs at me. I pass him and he starts flashing his lights and honking his horn, while he was still maintaining 30km/h! That was definately a WTF moment that day.

Thats why you get a train horn. Great thing is, thats perfectly legal in florida (where im 'stuck' at the moment), so once i get a car, that will be one of my first modifications. Nothing like a deafening horn and the finger to get across your point

I find motorbike drivers to be one of the worst raged/moron drivers out there... We've had a couple get annoyed at us, and one I remember in particular. One bike pull up next to us at the traffic lights, and lent his bike onto the mirror of my parents' car. My father told him to lean off it, but he wouldn't listen. He started to get annoyed with the driver eventually. In the end, the biker just stuck his middle finger up at us and absolutely floored it through the red light.

One I clearly remember from a car is this 2.0T Audi A3, with a sailor being a driver, note, angrily wanted to overtake us. Due to the traffic, he couldn't. My father could tell, so, he didn't let him pass through the next roundabout. Mabey he should have, but he didn't. The driver got very pissed, and decided to overtake us anyway. My father floored it at the same time too, but the Audi couldn't quite pass because we were in the quicker car. In the end, the Audi only just pulled in in time before he hit another car head on.

I have quite a few funny road rage stories. Ive been shot at by a paint ball gun (got a summuns in the mail, guy went down with terroristic activities, he was on leave from the military). Ive been chased by a 350Z for 20 miles, didnt realize he was chasing us until I stopped at a red light and he got out of his car, in the pouring rain, in a VERY nice business suit. I hopped the median and yelled "I'd like to see your Japanese crap do this!" and sped off in the other direction. Ive had people turn on their map lights and flash a knife, then stop as everyone in my car flashes a bigger knife. I had a car full of samolians flash a gun (I think it was a .22 revolver), he followed us right into the local police department parking lot, then speed off when he realized what the building with all the cop cars was.

One time my friend and I were driving to his appartment, we get off the freeway (he was driving I was shotgun) and are sitting in the right turn lane. Apparantly we cut someone off (neither of us really noticed that we did) the driver of the other car pulled up next to us and started yelling at us about how stupid we were and all that BS. We just laugh about it and look for a break in traffic so we can go. All of a sudden this guy is jumping through the open sun roof punching my friend in the head. Not even thinking I grab the guy by the head with both hands and tell my friend to take off. He does but we are maybe going 10mph, still scary when you are hanging out of a sun roof with some dude holding onto your head. The guy starts crying about not wanting to die and pleading with us to stop and let him down, mind you we really never get above 10mph. We stop I let go of his head and we start to drive away. After we drive away the guy flipps us off, and ran back to his car. Supprisingly enough no one called our tags in.

That would be nice. Unfortunately, if I were equipped with such a device, I would probably go deaf from using it so much. Also, the people around here would be scared by it. Given this aural hint, they would likely invoke "the dumbass reaction" and slam on the brakes, causing me to rear-end them, creating more rage.

I'm not 100% sure yet. Either Seattle's eastern suburbs (where I grew up), or Olympia, depending on the results of an upcoming job interview. In either case, I'm leaving this driver's hell forever.

Urge to kill… rising.
