Road test/Review/Test&tune

I'm just gauging interest in this idea and to be honest I don't even know if I'm shoul'd be posting in this Forum or in another area. Well anyways here's my Idea.

It will be sort of an online Test&Tune Magazine thread. I would conduct a Road test and Review of a stock vehicle. Then it would be biult-up (not necessarily fully modified) in say 3 Stages and I would conduct tests after each Stage so everybody could see the difference in performance just with modifications at their default settings. Then I'd end up that vehicle with a custom tune.

So I'd end up with comparisons between Stock/Modified/Tuned.

You should release your reviews in pairs using rivalry cars of different makes. Say, Camaro vs. Mustang, or Ferrari vs. Lamborghini. Keep track of the amount you spend on them, also. It could be a GT5 'Road and Track'.

I like the Idea but for now, until I get the hang on exactly how I'd like to set it up I'd like to stick to single Review's/Tune's. Plus I'll be doing it in my spare time which isn't a lot.

I'd like to do tests on about 3 or 4 different tracks of different styles. 1 with a long straight (Maybe Fuji), 1 with a lot of tight flat turns (?), 1 with a lot elevation changes and off camber turns (?), and 1 with a lot of bumps (?). This will show each cars strengths and weakness's. Also all cars will be tested online with the online physics, all aids off except ABS 1.

I'll give my objective opinions as well as submit subjective i.e. Lap Times.

Maybe after things get going, I could recruit some Test Drivers.

I'm relatively new to Gtplanet but have been playing GT since GT1. So I need to figure out a lot of the picture posting, linking, and editing that I can do on a forum thread. Want to try to keep everything on 1 thread as sort of an ongoing Work In Process but have links to everything so peep's can jump to anywhere they want.

I like the idea. I would be willing to submit tunes.

I do really like the idea of a vs. type article. I know that complicates things a bit, but it would make for an interesting story. The car magazines do this all the time. Not sure if anyone has seen 0-60 magazine in the U.S.? They are all fans of Top Gear and write in a similar style. Their road tests aren't usually vs. of two manufacturers. They are more fun. They compared the new Ford Taurus SHO with the one from the 90's. New one stock and old one with upgrades. Or the new Nissan GTR vs. an 80's Australian Touring Car Championship Nissan, using the championship driver. They also did one comparing the Viper ACR to the Mercedes built on the same platform.

Something similar in GT5 could be fun. Old GTR vs. new. Old Motul Nissan vs. new Xanvia Nissan. Old Mustang vs. new.

Test tracks locked in

-Fuji F Speedway. the long straightaway will give a good judge of topend and acceleration.
-Madrid with chicanes. Flat track with both tight and sweeping turns.
-Deep Forest Raceway. Bumpy track.
-Custom designed Course Maker track. Still working this one out but it will feature lots of elevation changes.

Also decided on a name "Road Test&Tune" the online Magazine thread for
GT5 enthusiast's. RTT Mag for short

And I've chosen my first car to review. Nissan's 2008 370Z or "Fairlady" Z as it's called in Japan. I figured it woul'd be a good middle of the road car to get started with.
