What should the classes be?

Just maybe if people don't have a wheel maybe I'm not sure I've never driven gt5 without a wheel (exept at GameStop) so im not sure if you need tc or not

 I'd say 1-2 at the most so you can get good DS3 users and no one winning jus because driver aids. I've got a wheel and I use no aids and the people that are good with controllers are the same way. Their good at it so they don't need settings.

I'm tempted by this. I've been eyeing this thread since I joined, and a lot of the time I do race with LMPs in online lobbies. I'll be a reserve for either class if there's no spaces, I'm not fussed really.

About the whole TC and aids thing.... I choose all but ABS to be off, and I only have a controller, but I know a fair few people that benefit from TC. My only thing is I'm currently a AT kinda guy, but that's because of how much harder it is to corner with a controller.

We'd be stoked if you'd race full time (if I can say that without sounding too sad) and that's interesting to hear that people are that good with controllers I never thought that people were ds3 pros maybe that's just because ive never been able to have a in depth conversation with anyone about gt5 as most of my friends got it... And then said it was too hard a week into it

Well, I wouldn't say I'm a pro or anything, but I've gotten used to driving without the usual aids. The only time you'll probably see me with TC on now is if I feel I'm burning out the tyres in an endurance race, but that's generally down to controllers having inferior throttle management and cornering precision (fingers tend to be more twitchy, doesn't help I use Steering sensitivity on full) opposed to wheels.

I'll see what I can do with full time racing, but I work wierd hours, and my internet is unreliable at times so I can't always pinpoint specific rooms. Is this going to be some kind of semi-endurance event, by any chance?

Yeah ABS only on 1.

Ya semi endurance like not 15 minutes and were done but not long enough your gonna need a bucket next to ya for when ya gotta go (hope that wasnt too far) lol

That sounds like something that'd interest me, bucket an' all. :D

ill have to talk to james but im thinkingn everything off exept like 5 or less tc and 1 abs

I'd agree with this. There are fair people out there who use traction control. I personally don't use it, or try not to, but there's more of a challenge if opponents are given the option of whether or not they will use it. I say if anyone is good enough at driving without assists then they should be able to win regardless.

And what class should I put ya down for!

What car would you use if you are the pace car if needes

I think we want to have racers rather than a pace car but if we get a ton of people you could be the pace car! Remember to add us

Either, it doesn't matter much to me. If there's less places in the GT class put me in that one, but if not then I don't really mind.

I'll wait

Okay cool. By the way, what kind of regulations have you got for the DP and DGT classes?

Wikipedia DP Specs
Engine displacement: 5.0 L (302 in³) Maximum
Transmission: 4.5 L (275 in³) displacement and above - 5 forward gears (maximum)
4.5 L (275 in³) displacement and below - 6 forward gears (maximum) manual or sequential manual transmission
Weight: 4.0 L (244 in³) displacement and above-2,275 lb (1,032 kg)
Below 4.0 L (244 in³)-2,225 lb (1,010 kg)
Power Output: 500 hp (370kW)
Fuel: 100 octane unleaded gasoline
Fuel capacity: 24 U.S. gallons (91 liters)
Fuel delivery: Fuel injection
Aspiration: Naturally aspirated
Steering: Power, rack and pinion
This is what I found on wiki for the DP class, but not for GT. I am veering towards opting for the GT class for this, actually, the more I'm thinking about it.

I checked the qualifying times for the 24 hours of Daytona and for dp it was a 1:41 and for gt it was a 1:49 so were going to try to make the cars as close to this as possible

I'll do some runs on Daytona too while I'm sitting here. Online is going under maintenance so.... might as well help out, aye? I've got some GT/LMS/RM cars in my favourites for testing, and I'ma do some laps in RS tyres. I'll post the cars and their lap times here soon.

Awesome but for sure the dp cars are going to be lmp cars and the gt cars are going to be the real Rolex cars tuned to about 500 hp but see what it takes to get the lap times and none are rm so the camero will not be rm it will just be tuned and we think it looks cooler with the wing too

Camero is just a example I'll put up a full car list but it's going to have these Ferrari 458 ford mustang and Audi r8 BMW m something were working on that and camero

Well I used a Audi R8 LMS just now on Racing Softs and got a 1:44.223, 581bhp/1300kg. That was with a tried top speed of 166mph (short gear ratio setup) and full Aerodynamic downforce.

what track was that? I'll try it with a 500hp gt car (the specifications that we're said to be going by.)

That was on Daytona. I'll set up a car now. Would it be ok to test with an Evora? 474bhp/1175kg?

Um James souks have to e the judge of that the car will not be raced but if ya want to test it thatd be cool

Ya :( but to be honest you still feel like your going pretty fast with only 500 hp in the infield

Right so... I decided to buy a car and tune it to the specs you've stated for the GT class using a car you've mentioned.

Audi R8 4.2L (Tuned to 497bhp/1264kg) - 1:47.862 on Racing Softs. {Aero Wing installed.}

I could probably get a much quicker time than this if I tinkered with the car a bit more than I did, but with my usual tweeks on suspension and one run, this is the time I posted.

With these regs in a 458 I did a 1:47.6... So thats really good
