I came across this today just looking around. I had no idea there were soo many different kinds of root beers. go here http://www.annoyances.com/rb/ and click on "Reviews" and you'll see what im talking about. Anyways i chose these four kinds of root beers because they are the most common (I think) drinks I have seen. :D

Ginger ale?! Hell no it's not that, it's soda. The blind leading the blind....j/k.

I like Barq's the best...it has a real kick and makes me burp a lot...that's what I look for in a drink:how much it makes me burp...

Barq's has been around since 1898...

never seen rootbeer in australia, is that ginger ale?

we don't get it much here either.

They used to sell it in Mac D's but no longer. I would imagine about the only place you could buy it now woould be on a US airbase.

Tastes like a cross between Dr Pepper, Dandelion and Burdock and watered down Vimto.

Bit of an acquired taste.

Rootbeer tastes like cold coffee with a head on it and a dash of wintergreen mouthwash thrown in for extra flavor. Why people would willingly drink it is beyond me.
:yuck:

O ye of little faith in my abilities :p

Main Entry: sas·sa·fras
Pronunciation: 'sa-s&-"fras
Function: noun
Etymology: Spanish sasafrás
Date: 1577
1 : an eastern No. American tree (Sassafras albidum) of the laurel family having both ovate and lobed aromatic leaves
2 : the carcinogenic dried root bark of the sassafras used formerly as a diaphoretic or flavoring agent

I have a few on my property, and so did my parents as I was a kid. When you pull off a leaf you can smell that the sap smells like (and taste like) root beer. In about 7th grade I did a program called "Summer Ecology" (got me out of my parents hair) and we learned that root beer was flavored at one time with this tree. Then they learned to do it artificially. (Which is good now that I see the word "Carcinogenic"

pepsi? maybe the new stuff is better. coke goes down easier.

dr pepper/mr pibb? opinions?

I like Barq's cause It's the only root beer they sell in the machines. I really don't care what soda I drink, its whatever gets thrown at me, I live with Barq's best
