Rotate the car while selecting rims?

Is it possible? I find it very annoying to buy a set of rims that look good from the side of the car but then looks absolutely crap when I start viewing the car from different angles.

Same goes for the horrific camera when selecting colors on a new premium car. The camera swipes too close to the car so that you can't get a good overview. Frustrates me every time. :guilty:
 
I don't think so. At least not yet. I was trying to figure this out earlier when shopping for cars and running through the various paint schemes.
 
I've had this idea in my head for a while... 👍

Even better would be to be able to preview a paint colour on your car, and not on some moulded car shape, makes me scared to use my chrome paint! :scared:
 
Couldn't we pan around the car or spin it around with the right stick in GT4? I'm sure there was some way of manually viewing the car, rather than just waiting for it to slooooowly turn.
 
The demo option in the dealer is not particular good for judging what the colout of your new car is going to look like, as the weather mostly seems to be dull for me! Also in the showroom the car does not rotate fast enough so you get a decent overview of the car. More ofter than not I check another paint colour and spend half a minute (exaggeration maybe?) looking at the back of the car!

Must admit when I bought wheels I didn't think of the effect of angled views. Fortunately my choice looked fine. The option to rotate there, and when painting a car would be very useful. Would it have killed PD to include a preview option with the painting. I think I have Quit the game more times than I have accepted a colour choice as that is the only way to recover your paint chip and revert your car to its original colour.
 
i hate how the car spins sooooo slowly.. sometimes i just wanna look at the back of a car and it takes forever to spin around... YET in arcade mode they have a 'increase rotation speed' feature... whats up with that?
 
And there's another thing: when you mount aero parts, you often have to wait for the car to spin around again to see what the part looks like. So...
  • no color preview on the car in the paint shop
  • car (annoyingly) not spinning when selecting rims
  • car (annoyingly) spinning when selecting aero parts
At times I have the feeling they get all these little things wrong for a reason I just don't understand. A team of people as big as this can not possibly go over so many details and give them a 👍
