Track = Tahiti Maze II
You must use the same car you used in Round 1 👍
Use the ARCADE VERSION of that car for this Round.

Sector discussion is fine! ... just dont discuss full laps and Total race times! :)
lets kick up some Dust !!

First sessions best hotlap:

28.176
52.880
1'22.228

Improvements possible. :)

Can't wait to get started with the race. Gonna be a blast getting 2 clean and fast laps here.

On practice lap 2 :
T1 = 28.3
T2 = 53.9
T3 = 1'24.3

Improvement required :(

Couldn't you save this sweet race for last, Ron? :irked:

I'll only have little time to run on thursday, so this will be a one shot race for me :guilty:

i missed the first round :(, can i still run though??

After first races:

31.892
56.846
1'16.277

28.183
52.942
1'22.482

Modest times, but I'm having great fun. :D

Sorry I missed the first challange guys, it's been manic here the last two weeks, but I'll make sure I'll submit something for this one, even if it is just a token attempt 👍

Good to see Jerry and Small_Fryz in for round 2 👍

great to see i can participate. Dont expect anything great from me, i only did dirt racing in GT3 to pass the rallys, once completed i have never driven on dirt again.

lets see what i can do :D

EDIT!!

First clean save
Lap 1
T1: 31.929
T2: 57.658
T3: 1:27.254

Lap 2
T1: 28.447
T2: 54.057
T2: 1:24.179

Ford Focus.

I have no idea if these times are any good.

Nice start Small_Fryz. 👍

Mr P's flying lap will look something like this:
26.860 / 50.973 / 1'19.515 :ouch:

So you be the judge. But do not feel too bad, we are all chasing the same dust cloud. ;)

T1 32.071
T2 56.921
T3 1'27.149

T1 29.166 (Must bring the car home safe)
T2 54.229
T3 1'24.599

Never thought I could make it this far
BTW the weather at the Maze is better then here at the moment.

First race :

32.573 / 58.033 / 1'28.447
28.482 / 53.769 / 1'23.936

and it's clean.
More practice required...

Cut off a second overall:

31.670
56.714
1'25.939

27.972
52.978
1'22.022

Still some time out there, if I can put it together.

Half a year ago I was also racing the Delta at Maze II in "A Rally Race Series" over at the numbers. Till now I've cut of almost a second per lap. Feels great to actually see some improvement over time, as it can be very hard to detect in the everyday racing. :D

Some nice times coming in guys 👍 I will be racing this today and will update asap :) I will be using the NTSC game for this round as I do for most Rally

Good luck everyone

Any car I want at Tahiti Maze II? I see that my lap record over at db.granturismo.de is still intact...

I'll see if I can round up the rally support team over the next 2 days. 👍

Welcome aboard Mr Brennen! also long time no see 👍 ... seems I certainly have my work cut out for me ;) ... ya spoil sport :D

ojk man I'm glad your in this race .... lets do it matey :sly:

edit: A good session at this and my best save has T3's of 1.23.8 / 1.19.6

seen 1.23.5's and 1.19.4's so I will keep at it until I make up the time I am losing 👍

Ever run against a ghost replay and say, "how the heck is he so fast?" Ever do that with your own ghost? :)

It took me a while of practice in Free Run, but I seem to have recaptured a small bit of the magic... 27.379 / 51.327 / 1'19.820.

From T1 to the end of the lap, it was quicker than my record lap... But then again, all I had to do was follow the ghost -- I just need to relearn the quick line in this car.

I've been waiting for a fast time from one of the big guns. My T3 time in my race save is 1'20.400 so far. Not sure if I'm going to try anymore for this round. I chose my car for Swiss Alps II.

I just ran my first race which was worth saving. Not enough to catch Mr P I'm sure, but I'm just warming up:

31.369 / 55.477 / 1'24.064
27.119 / 51.303 / 1'19.811

So that would put me about 0.4 back based on the T3 splits. We'll try to fix that. :D

Best T3s around 1'26.8 / 1'23.3
What about creating 2 divisions in this event ?

BTW, I saw a T3 at 1'23.456 during a race, I thought : "weird number, with one-two-three-four-five-six in the correct order".
Next race I also saw T3 on lap 2 at 1'23.456.
After hitting 1'00.000 in the Mini, it seems it's a good week for numbers, I should take a lottery ticket 💡

Jim,

That looks like a fairly respectable time there, sir. :)

Good Luck! :)

I have a little start tip for who-ever cares to try it :)

Full revs in 2nd gear ... let the car set off and the revs will start to drop slowly, as soon as it drops to inbetween 4000 and 3000 revs ... drop to 1st gear 👍 ( dont let it drop below 3000 revs before changing or the start is crap )
Full 2nd gear start is decent enough! .. but this neat little start has got me better T1's on lap 1 every time ;)
maybe it only helps with the focus .. I'm not sure? but worth a try!

Great sectors coming in ..keep at it guys :) 👍

Nice tip Mr. P!

Eliminating the wheel spin as much as possible at the start will improve start sector times of tarmac races by as much as half a second. I did some testing for the gttimes team during BC4 at Midfield and we ended up using a technique very similar to your post. It works even better when starting in the dirt!

In general with almost any combo, a full throttle, 2nd gear start will be quicker than running through the gears sequentially. I've even saved time with certain combos by starting in 3rd gear and then quickly dropping down and running through the gears as always.

I probably have spent more serious time at the 1000m timer than anywhere else. It shows when I try to turn... hehehe

Later,
Dak

shaved 5 seconds off my overall time.

31.527 / 56.680 / 1:26.360
27.922 / 52.602 / 1:22.666

definetly room for improvement.

do you take the curves fully sideways or do you take them like you would on tarmac and keep as straight as possible. Im talking about the hairpins after T1 and T3

Full sideways for me, but it depends some on the car. That is one of the reasons the Focus and the Puegeot both do well here, they both are very quick sideways.

Once again fellow racers, I have enjoyed reading the posts. Thank you for your participation and input.

Time submitted.
Gotta love the Escort.

Back of the pack and lovin it,
