As we all know, the two most used tracks for drag racing is indy and SSR7. But what about a track that has the best of both worlds? That's where I bring in SSR5. It has the 1/4 mile racing abilities as Indy, if not better, the whole atmosphere of SSR7 with good scenery thrown in, and can hold 3 people no problem, four if you're careful. To me, this appears to be the ultimate drag racing map, although it doesn't seem to get the attention it deserves. What I would propose is to make SSR5 a drag map and a more popular map online in general. I will have to ask one of you to help me carry this out for a few weeks because I have finals coming up. What would you guys think of using SSR5 as a drag map?

If people don't use Indy for the 1/4 mile, they'll use Route X itself online. Each 400m of marks on the ground is essentially a drag strip.

i used to drag here, i bet a good way to get action there is hold a sort of competition with a possible hp limit or something along those lines.

True, but not everyone has Route X.

That's a pretty good idea. I would do it but I have finals coming up. Either someone else can do it or I'll wait until school's over, which is next Thursday.

indy and the tunnel(ssr7) are well established and tuners have tuned for every inch(exag) of each track

Route x is the next best alternative

I hate when people say they dont have or cant afford it. You bought a ps3 for at least $200(or over $100 used) and the game for at least $30, you can afford a track under $5

No credit card? Buy a psn card for cash.

Anyone can enter route x online even if they didn't purchase it. Not sure about hosting a room though

I am going to check it out and run a few of my drag cars there. Hopefull there will not be the need to redo any of the tunes. If they have to be then I dont thinnk it will go over too well with everyone.

Isn't route 5 nighttime like ssr7 ? If so I don't think I'll like it, but I'll try it.

Alright, I took some pictures of some start ans finish points.

The starting point will be where the pit entry is. To make it simple, There is a line right by there.

The finishing point will be the exit signs. This also happens to be the pit exit.

In short, the strip will be the length of the pit lane. There is also plenty of room to brake and turn around.

@r4a2go: The tunes people have set up for indy should be fine, with only small adjustments in top speed.

I just mesured the distance between these two points using the C4 WRC car and its 767 / 768 meters from start point to finish point, quite a random distance to drag race on but it could work I guess

Worked that out to a little under half a mile, which means kttheman001 was right. I now feel like an idiot.

I like drifting on SSR5 but I haven't actually tried drag racing on it yet. I will have to try it out with a couple of friends 👍 .

Dont, like i said i dragged there before, i remember getting about 190 in my chevelle there, really fun because if you pull then you pull! But we already knew it was ~ half a mile.

You could use the Clubman stage. The longest straight is 0.43 miles which is 692 meters, 200 almost 300 meters more than a actual 1/4. Use the same start and finish lines, just treat it as Indy and place rear wheels on the end of the strip where you have your front bumper at in your picture
